Totally boring fill chapter here, but we actually need this for it to make sense. Sorry!
The day was coming to an end, and luckily for Regina, Casey's mom had called saying she was ill and couldn't make her lesson. Of course Regina felt bad for her, but it meant she could get home to Daniel quicker. She watched the clock as her students packed away their things.
"So close yet so far, aye miss?" One of her students spoke to her.
"Ha, yea. You doing anything good tonight?"
"Nah, I only take this and drama and since I've done any homework I need to do I'll probably be binge watching Netflix or YouTube." The young girl laughed. Her long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, her winged eyeliner perfect.
"Sounds good to me, any idea what you'll be watching?"
"Well I heard the Divergent movies were now on, so probably those. Or Hunger Games."
"Ah both good, good luck choosing. How're your parents?" Regina had never been one to get close to pupils parents, but you couldn't help but love hers. Even Regina couldn't lie about that.
"Good, my mom is working night shift tonight so me and my sister and walking home together."
"You have a sister?"
"Yeah. There's three years difference. Usually we walk with my other friend but she's staying back for drama rehearsals. Oh shoot, I gotta run! Bye Miss!" The girl grabbed her bag and went for the door.
"Bye Mia!" Regina called and watched the rest of the class file out after the bell.
Mia walked round the corner to find er sister standing waiting impatiently.
"Hurry up!"
"Suze, you know I get out five minutes later than you. Stop complaining." They walked for a bit chatting about their days until Mia thought of something.
"Wanna go to the bakery? Moms working night shift and Dad won't notice if we've been eating?"
"Can we really?" Suzy's eyes widened in excitement as they turned the corner.
"Sure, as long as you pay. I've no money."
"Ugh fine."
Robin was coming close to closing time, once his usual final customer came in he'd usually close up. On Fridays he sometimes stayed open later, but today he was exhausted. It was coming close to quarter to four when the door bell rang out.
"Come on, you need to choose quick because dads going to be home for half four. He'll wonder why we're so later if we're not home before him."
"Hey there, what can I get you two today?"
"Hi Robin." Suzy spoke almost shy, but Robin knew her better.
"Hey Suzy." He mimicked her, going 'shy' too.
"Can I get that one?"
"Ugh Suzy! That's the last one and you know it's my favourite!" Mia spoke from behind her, having a sister could be annoying.
"I didn't know, and anyway I'm buying it." Suzy turned back with a 'deal with it' smile on. This always infuriated Mia.
"Ugh, I'll have the raspberry middle one, then." Mia pointed to the one next to the corner.
"Ugh! Fine!" Robin mimicked the two of them before handing it to them. Once they'd paid and we're just leaving Robin spoke to them both.
"Tell your parents I said hi?"
"Okay, they wanted me to say they will be coming in next weekend."
"Okay, great. Be safe!" Robin called out after them. Mia and Suzy's parents had been customers to they bakery since it first opened. They were both regular customers who you couldn't help but love. Even Robin couldn't lie about that.
"Daniel! I'm home early!"
"Great! I made you some food." He was standing in the door way putting his coat on.
"Where are you going?" She asked and looked for the food.
"I gotta run, I put your food in the oven to keep it warm. Don't wait up, babe." He kissed her cheek and ran out the door.
"Bye then." She said to herself and began to take her coat off. Almost every weekend he'd either go out with friends, or want to go out with her. It was exhausting. He never slowed down. One minute he'd be at the horse racing, the next out with friends. He'd always loved horse racing. Went to it at least twice a week. Regina on the other hand didn't agree with it. Forcing the poor animals to run for their lives for other people's money? It was just wrong. She'd always been a firm believer in letting them be free, or being able to roam in large fields at least. It got to the point were she researched it, and it turned out that the one that Daniel went to barely let them out. Always stuck in small stables. She was disgusted. It was something that always provoked arguments. Once she'd go teen changed into sweatpants and a T-shirt she sat down to the meal he'd prepared for her. Chicken, mash and vegetables, one of her favourite meals. She had just put one forkful in when her phone went.
Mal: Hey you know tht kid that's in your class? I teach the sister and the friend?
Regina: Yes, Mia. What about her?
Mal: Her parents are having a party next week and have invited both of us? Any idea why?
Regina: They're the ones you invited to your birthday party by mistake, remember we went to lunch with them once to discuss their daughters careers and things?
Mal: Oh kind of...
Regina:You got drunk as hell and slept beside their dog.
Mal: SHIT! Them???
Regina: Yes, they're lovely people. How do you know I'm invited?
Mal: Most of the staff got emails, he's the one on the PTA right?
Regina: That's the one, and okay. We can discuss it tomorrow at lunch ;)
Mal: Guess we're going to lunch then...
Regina placed her phone down and began eating again a her and Mal continued to make plans for the next day.Sorry guys it's a crappy chapter but don't worry-you'll enjoy this party...
