I scanned the group, slowly and carefully observing each of them. An infant. A teen. A redneck. A bearded man... An Asian. I studied the Asian man for an extra second and opened my mouth to speak, but as soon as I did, Deanna cut me off. "That's enough of your harsh demeanor, (y/n). Why don't you come with us for some help, but you must be nice." She gave me a smile and lead us into her home. I glanced back once more, meeting the eyes of the Asian guy, I quickly looked away and scoffed, 'Ignore them. They aren't going to fit in for long. Just distract yourself.' I thought to myself.
Deanna left me to entertain our guests as she took them back to talk one by one. I don't trust them. I jerked my head to the side, I could feel someone staring, sure enough the teen boy was staring straight at me, holding the little girl who couldn't be older than two or three. "Can I help you?" I snapped, glaring daggers at him. "No.. Just... I'm Carl," The boy- er, Carl said. "And this is Judith." I nodded and leaned back against the wall. "(Y/n).." I sighed softly and turned back to him. "I don't mean to be a dick. It's who I am and if y'all wanna stay here, you better get used to me." I heard a soft snicker and I turned towards the source, the redneck. Since these people have already handed in their weapons, I had the upper hand. "The hell you laughin' at?Something funny, asshole?" I stood straight and stepped towards him, he nodded and shoved my shoulder. "Say it to my damn face then." I taunted, pushing him back. "You think you're tough. You're sheltered." He snarled with a deep voice. "I may have been in here, but I swear to god I will shoot you without hesitation. I defend this place. I take out walkers. I go find supplies. I may have shelter, but I am not weak. You cannot storm in here and expect to take fuckin charge of my home. If you even try I will kill you. I will throw you out of this place. Don't fuck with me, douchebag. You wanna take this place? You can try, but you'll fail. As long as I'm breathing, you will never hurt these people. Don't think for a fucking second that I cannot hurt you, that I'm too weak- that I'm not tough." I scoffed, pushing him roughly against the wall and clenching my fist. "(Y/n)! That is enough," Deanna said loudly. "Go help Spencer with the gate." She demanded, I opened my mouth to protest, "Now, (y/n)." I groaned and walked out, slamming the door behind me.
This will be interesting.
