the seniors had to attend the assembly straight after first period.
i scanned the hall and sat at the end of the bleachers.
looking over, i could make out other classes full of cliques that were finding their ways to a seat.
i sighed, rubbing my hands over my black fitted skater skirt.

my subconscious spat.
looking around, it was true.
ever since i snitched jay out, people stopped talking to me.
she was my only friend.
now i have to pay the price.
my mind shifted onto last night, the pink in my cheeks probably noticeable.
i just remembered that i should have sent my aunt a text to show her i was alright.
a class moved onto the seats near me.
i pulled my bag up so i could shield my cellphone as i composed a quick text.
somebody near me cleared their throat.
then an outstretched hand appeared in front of me.
i looked up to mr. park.
"no phones in school marie, hand it over."
marie?
"i need to-"
"no arguments."
fucking douche.
this time i came into agreement with my subconscious.
i handed my phone over into his palm, where my hand almost shamelessly lingered.
he eyed me as he stuffed it into his pocket.
lovely, now i don't have a phone.
i'm also possibly grounded when i get home for not sending any form of acknowledgement that i'm completely safe.
i snapped out of my thoughts and looked up, realizing that he was still standing there, peering down at me.
"what?" i muttered quite harshly.
"scoot over, i have privileges to sit on the bleachers." he stated.
"fuck no, sit somewhere else." i whispered, taking my eyes off him.
he didn't budge so I budged.
and he took a seat beside me.
the rest of the seniors took their time to enter the gymnasium as the teachers did the same.
teachers took their seats at the end of the bleachers just as jimin did.
"what was with you last night?" he asked.
i didn't answer since i didn't have one.
"i'll rephrase, what's up with us?" he spoke in a hushed tone so it was confidential.
