This is a narrative poem I wrote in 7th grade about a piano recital for a poetry project. Hope you like it!

I walked up to the piano
I felt nervous and scared
The piano was like a huge shark waiting in my path
I sat down and put the music book on the piano
I flipped through the pages and found my song
My fingers hit the keys I was supposed to play
I was playing perfectly

It was like I was playing this song for years
It was like I was on a roller coaster
I was nervous at first
Then, I got on the roller coaster, and I enjoyed it
I was glad I was on it
I was doing so well, but then it was like I got struck by lightning
I played the wrong note on the piano
I felt like I had been in the beggining: nervous and scared
But, then, I realized that was a little mistake
I had to move on
I had to be brave
Then, my fingers danced on the keys of the piano
When I was done, I stood up and bowed
I was no longer nervous and scared
I had confidence in myself
That was the day I realized that I loved playing the piano
I love when I hold down the petal, the music echoes through the halls
Playing piano is my passion; it always will be
