I'm Dead But I'm Also Alive.

Chapter 23

I woke up to Evan shaking me. I opened my eyes and looked at him.

"We're at the palace." He whispered.

I yawned and sat up. Evan opened the door for me and I got out. I was faced with this seven story house. It was huge! The outside of the house was made of brick. I could see people rushing around inside the house.  Evan led me into the house and everyone stopped mid step. They all faced me and bowed. I smiled and they all went back to rushing around. 

"I hope you don't mind but we kinda have to share a room for a few days while they get yours set up." Evan said.

"I-it's fine." I stuttered.

"There's no need to be nervous. If you need anything ask me or a staff member. And I'll introduce you to everyone at dinner later." Evan said smiling.

I nodded. "Um. Do you think I could change or something?'' I asked.

Evan chuckled. "It's your house. You can do anything you want." Evan chuckle, "I'll show you to our room." He said walking up the stairs. 

There was stairs on each side of the house that met up in the middle. We walked up the stairs and into a huge master bedroom. I looked around and was shocked. The walls were painted red and it had dark wood flooring. The bed was one of those canopy beds and was just beautiful.

"There are some clothes in the bath room for you." He said pointing to the other end of the room.

I nodded and he exited the room. I sighed and set my phone on the bed. I walked into the bathroom and closed and locked the door behind me. There were neon orange skinny jeans and a kinda see through white shirt. Lucky for me I had my purple tank top on. I stripped off my clothes and got into the shower. I shampooed and conditioned my hair and washed my body. 

After that I hopped out and wrapped myself in a blue fluffy towel that felt soft against my skin. After I dried off I put on my clothes and didn't put on my shoes. I ran a brush through my hair and stepped out of the bathroom. There was a girl that looked about my age in there cleaning. Once she saw I was standing she bowed and started apologizing under her breath.

"Please stop bowing. If I see one more person bow i'm going to loose it." I laughed.

"Sorry. Mr. Evan said that we should bow if we are in your or his presence." She said.

"What's your name?"  I asked.

She glanced at the clock and looked worried. "I'm sorry but I must go. Dinner will be served in about an hour and a half." She said and then rushed out of the room.

I shrugged and sat on the bed looking at my phone. I was wondering if I should call or text Max. I decided not to and went looking for Evan. I stepped out of the bedroom and I was in the middle of a long hallway. I sighed in aggravation and then some guy walked by. 

"Excuse me." I said.

He looked at me and started to bow but I evil eyed him and he stood up straight again.

"You must be Alice. The soon to be queen. I'm Brandon." He introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you Brandon. I'm looking for Evan. You know where he is?" I asked playing with one of my bracelets.

He smiled and nodded. "He's in his office it's the very last door at the end of the hall." He said.

I smiled said thanks and then walked down the very long hallway. When I reached the end off the hall I opened the door and then closed it behind me. Evan was talking to a very slutty looking girl. She looked at me and narrowed her eyes. "You got rid of me for her." She said in a disgusted tone.

I decided to have a little fun and switched to my grim reaper side. My eyes went black and I could feel my teeth sharpen. When the switch was complete I smiled letting my sharp jagged teeth show. Her skin turned white as a ghost as her eyes widened. She quickly rushed out of the office and I went back to human. Evan looked at me and smiled.

"Hey Alice. I assume you met Brandon." Evan said putting his pen down.

I nodded and sat in a chair in front of his desk. He smiled and looked at me. "Your eyes. They're two different colors." He said still looking me in the eyes.

"Yea. Uh it's like a birth defect. Instead of getting one solid color I got the green eye from my dad and the blue eye from my mom." I explained looking at the ground. I hated when people pointed it out. It made me feel a little to different.

"I like it. I think it's beautiful." He said whispering the last part.

"So we're going to be sharing that room when we get married." I said still a little shocked.

"Yea. And for at least today and tomorrow." Evan smiled.

"Oh yea! Do me a favor and tell the staff they don't have to bow to me." I said.

"Why don't you like the bowing?" Evan asked.

"Having everyone bow when they see me makes me feel like a some rich preppy kid." I answered.

"Alright. I'll be sure to tell them." Evan nodded.

"Do they get payed?" I asked.

"Why would you like to know?" Evan asked confused.

"Just curious." I said shrugging.

"Well yes they get payed and they all stay in the rooms on the main floor." Evan explained.

I nodded. "Good.'' I said not knowing what else to say.

"Was there anything you needed?" Evan asked.

I shook my head and stood up. I started to walk out of his office when I ran into Brandon. "Sorry." I muttered as I walked passed him. 

I walked back into the bedroom and saw two guys going through my phone that I left there. I picked up a knife that was on a plate that used to have meat on it and I threw it between them and it hit the wall behind them. When they saw me they dropped my phone on the bed and tried running out but I caught both of them by their necks. 

"Why the hell are you in here going through my phone?!" I growled.

They didn't say anything. They were completely silent. I rolled my eyes and shoved them out of the room. As soon as I shoved them they took off down the hall. I walked over and looked at me phone. They were texting Max!!! Then he called.

"H-hello." I answered.

"Why the hell would you tell me you already hooked up with that guy?!" He yelled at me.

"I didn't say that! Some guys were messing with my phone." I said.

"Whatever!" He growled and the line went dead.

I locked my phone and just fell onto the bed. I was officially ready to eat someone and I've only been here for not even three hours!!! Talk about a sucky first day. I just laid on the bed with my eyes closed. I heard someone come into the room a few minuets later. Then I felt a warm cloth on my face. I threw it on the ground and opened my eyes and looked at who threw it at me.

Evan stood there shirtless. I looked at him and rolled my eyes. "What?" He said shrugging, "I'm taking a shower. If you want I'll even leave the door unlocked." He winked.

"Thanks but I'll have to pass." I giggled.

He smiled and walked into the bathroom closing the door behind  him. 

Oh my gosh!! He had a fucking six pack!! He's fucking hot and he has a six pack?! Damn I have a sexy fiance. I could get used to this.
