'You suck!'
'Look at those things on his face he's such a weirdo!'
'He's such a crybaby, Yamaguchi why do you cry at everything?!'
'Freak!'

Silence.
This was how Yamaguchi's nightly routine went. He would worry, sob, cry, shriek about absolutely anything and everything until the soft bliss that was sleep washed over him.

Sleep was the only the thing that could calm it down, his anxiety. Sleep was Yamaguchi's drug. The drug that could hold down the fierce beast that was his anxiety and stress.

But not all drugs are good for you, as  I'm sure your mother told you when you were young.

Yamaguchi was always restless during his days at school. His eyes would have huge dark circles surrounding them, leading in to the dark pit that was his troubled mind. He would tap, hum, drum, anything that could take his mind off the upcoming maths test or the fact that there are really tall scary people who he might have to politely ask to move out of his way at the end of class.

He couldn't help it though; he couldn't help the fact that anything and everything worried him the constant questions.

Will I pass my maths test?

What is my sexuality?

Am I gay?

Why can't I do anything right?

Why does no one want to talk to me?

I jus-

The shrill bell cut through his thoughts like the razor he had considered gliding over his wrists so many times.

He sighed and began to pack his messenger bag. His eyes shot wide open and all previous traces of lethargy on his face disappeared when he realised his earlier fears came true.

Four tall, scary looking students that were all taller than him stood between him and the door.

Yamaguchi's breaths began to speed up and become more shallow. He was frozen to the spot, unable to move or speak.

"Can you move out of the way, people are trying leave the classroom," a familiar snarky voice rang through Yamaguchi's ears.

The four students turned their way.
"Hm? Oh sorry," one said and gestured to the others to move out of the way. They all complied and left Yamaguchi alone in the classroom with his saviour.

"Tch," they clicked their tongue and turned to Yamaguchi. "If you don't hurry up we'll be late and I don't want Daichi-San jumping down my throat again."

"Arigatou, Tsukki," he said as the tall blonde left the classroom.

His once scared expression softened in to a small smile. Relief washed over his angelic features his face, eyes, mouth, shoulders all dropped as he let out a barely audible sigh.

Yamaguchi didn't have only one drug though. Tsukki was his other drug, his secret weapon, his guardian deity that would protect him no matter what. And that made Yamaguchi happier beyond belief.

Your mother told you that not all drugs are good, right?
