A/N:

In these chapters I'm putting in songs but can't italicize because I'm using my phone so I will mark the beginning with this ** and it end it with ***.

Leo's POV

Tears were rolling down my face. My vision blurry, I ran out of the house. I stumbled but quickly recovered and darted into the forest.

I don't know where I was going, but I found water. To be more specific, a lake. I looked around and saw an oak tree with a blanket under it. I made my way to the tree and felt more tears threaten to fall from my eyes.

A blue and white checkered blanket was laid under the tree, a basket was placed in the middle along with two candles, and there was a radio for music.

This was the place that Josh was going to take me for our first date. I started to cry as I picked up the basket and tossed it into the water. I grabbed the candles, broke them and threw them into the water as well.

Then, nothing. Silence. Then I heard his voice, "Leo!"

'Mate' my wolf whined.

'You know he hurt us, we trusted him, and look at what happened, just help me find a place to go.' I told my wolf

'Lake House.' my wolf said.

At first I was confused, but then I spotted it, a shack near the treeline of the forest.

Before my mother died, she would bring me to the lake house when dad was angry so I wouldn't see him that way. The house was on the border of two pack's territories, so it was neutral ground. No fighting. No harm allowed.

I ran as fast as I could to the lake house, my feet were burning as I stepped onto the porch. I looked back and heard Josh yell my name again but I went inside the house. Once inside the house, he wouldn't be able to find my scent. It was something my mother did when she came here. she had a bunch of candles and lit them so our scent became untraceable.

I found the candles, put them in the same spot my mom did and then I lit them. I waited a few minutes and heard Josh howl, probably because he lost my scent.

I looked around the house and in the living room I saw my mothers guitar. I grabbed the guitar and strummed a few notes. The notes were a bit out of tune so I worked to tune it properly.

Minutes passed until I finally got the guitar in tune, and made my way to the screen porch.

I strummed the notes to a song that came to me and I began to sing the lyrics,

** "I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did, I did

And you were strong and I was not

My illusion, my mistake

I was careless, I forgot

I did

And now when all is done

There is nothing to say

You have gone and so effortlessly

You have won

You can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Falling out of love is hard

Falling for betrayal is worse

Broken trust and broken hearts

I know, I know

Thinking all you need is there

Building faith on love and words

Empty promises will wear

I know, I know

And now when all is gone

There is nothing to say

And if you're done with embarrassing me

On your own you can go ahead tell them

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible!

Ooh impossible (yeah yeah)

I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did

Tell them all I know now

Shout it from the roof tops

Write it on the sky line

All we had is gone now

Tell them I was happy

And my heart is broken

All my scars are open

Tell them what I hoped would be

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

Impossible, impossible

I remember years ago

Someone told me I should take

Caution when it comes to love

I did"***

I strummed the last notes as tears fell from my eyes.

Haley's POV

I don't how long I had been walking before I heard a loud howl. Then it turned into growls. I whipped my head around to come face to snout with a wolf.

I shrieked in fear as the wolf came towards me.

I put my hands in defense and said, "Don't hurt me, I'm the one that helped Leo get free."

As soon as the word 'Leo' left my mouth, the wolf howled in pain. The wolf went behind a tree and came back as a human.

A cute human might I add, he walked up to me in only gym shorts. I looked up into his eyes and saw anger and sadness.

"How do you know Leo?" he asked me, his voice breaking when he said Leo.

"He was my friend and part of my pack until I helped him escape from my crazy ass family," I told him.

He stood in silence for a while and the moment became rather awkward.

"Where is he?" I asked.

His head shot up "I don't know he umm he left." he replied

"What?!" I yelled out in shock.

He was about to talk again but I cut him off.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked, my voice as sharp and cold as a scalpel.

"I'm future alpha of the Midnight Sun Pack and Leo's mate," he said and my face went pale.

"Why did he run?" I asked.

"He umm, we were about to go on our first date when Sarah kissed me and Leo saw it and took it the wrong way," he said, stumbling over his words in an attempt to get them out quickly.

"Whoa, so she kissed you, you didn't kiss her?" I asked, biting back the anger in my tone.

"Yes," he replied.

"Do you have any clue where he ran off to?" I asked him.

"I lost his scent right around here," he told me as he rubbed his neck awkwardly.

I looked around the area, for some reason it looked familiar to me. I turned again and noticed the reflection of the moon. I quickly spun around to look at him and asked, "Is there a lake near here?"

"Yeah, it's like a couple of yards away, why?" he asked me.

"I think I know where Leo is," I grinned as I picked up my bag and started to walk away.

As I was leaving, something grabbed my wrist and I turned around to see the future alpha's worried face.

"Where is he?" he asked with a growl.

"Okay, two things, first, what the hell is your name? Second, he is mad at you so chances are he will just run when he sees you," I yelled at him.

"My name is Josh, and you are... I just want to see him," he whined, looking around.

"Hey Josh, look, I will bring him back I promise," I told him and I was confident I would.

He nodded his head, I turned around and walked towards the place where I knew I would find Leo.

The Lake House.
