Chapter 18: Be Hold an Asshole

We got to Hayden's house a little while later and were now face to face with his brother.

"Hayden isn't here, he said he had to go tell some Shay girl something" He said holding an Xbox controller in one hand and a bag of chips in the other.

He leaned himself against the doorframe in front of me, "hey your cute who are you?" I smiled.

"I'm sorry I have a boyfriend" I said blushing a little.

"Come on Haven we gotta go"

"Wait-" His brother said grabbing my wrist.

"Your boyfriend doesn't have to know" He said putting his chips on the table next to the door.

"Your cute and all but I'm fine with him" I said pulling away and walking to Shay's car.

"You think he's cute"

"No I don't" I said blushing more. "Just shut up and drive woman"

She laughed and began driving, "So what'll be it's name if its a boy?" She shrugged her shoulders.

"I really like Ashton, but knowing Hayden he'll want the boy to be named after him."

"What about a girl?"

"For sure no doubt in the world it's gonna be Skylar I'm in love with that name" I nodded my head.

We arrived at her house and saw I'm guessing Hayden's car out front. We both got out and walked up to it, to find Hayden sitting in his car on his phone.

I tapped the window, he looked up and smiled at Shay then rolled down the window.

"Hey Shay" He said putting his phone down and stepping out of the car giving Shay a peck on the cheek.

"Cause Haven isn't here" I said as they completely ignored me.

"Oh hey Haven" I rolled my eyes realizing he didn't even mean it.

"So what're you doing here?"

"Uh, you texted me earlier and told me to come right now" We both looked at him confused.

"Did you leave your phone at the bowling alley?" I asked trying to figure out why we were confused.

She checked her pockets then nodded her head, "But who would text him as me?"

"Gavin" I said remembering he was there.

"Oh well anyways yeah I have to tell you something important" Shay said to Hayden.

"It's probably best to come inside though" I said walking in, both Shay and Hayden following.

We walked up to Shays room and I sat on her bed while they sat on her bed.

"So what do you have to tell me?" Hayden asked.

"So, um.. remember how a month ago we did 'it'?" He nodded his head obviously feeling uncomfortable I was in the room.

"Yeah what about it?"

"So this month I missed my period, an I started to freak out cause I never miss it, so I got really scared and went to the doctors only to find out-" She paused putting her head down.

"Only to find out I'm pregnant" She said still looking down.

"What?" Hayden asked shocked. "No it isn't mine, I don't believe you, I can't be a teen father"

"Hayden it's yours" Shay said now letting tears fall out.

"No" He said getting up and walking out of the room.

I got off the chair and went straight to her side engulfing her into my arms.

"I knew he was gonna be like that, he doesn't really care about me or the fact that I'm carrying his child"

I shook my head and rubbed her hair soothingly, "I don't know about Hayden but I will promise you ill always be by your side"

She nodded her head, "You are the greatest person I know" She said wiping some tears away.

We sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes before Shay decided she wanted to nap.

"I'm gonna go home alright? Text me when you get your phone back" She nodded her head as I walked out.

I grabbed my phone from my back pocket to call Zayn but then remembered I told him it was fine to go home.

But then again did I really wanna walk home? Ricky, he'll come pick me up.

"Hello" I said as I heard the phone being answered.

"Hey"

"Hey Ricky I need a ride home" I said taking a seat on the front step of Shay's house.

"Can't you ask Shay or her mum?"

"Please Ricky? Shay's not in the best condition to drive and her Kim's not home."

He sighed, "Fine ill be there in ten minutes"

"Thank you love you"

"Yeah bye" I smiled and waited for Ricky to come.

After exactly ten minutes he was there. "So what's going on with Shay?"

"What?" I asked surprised.

"You said she was in no condition to drive"

"Oh yeah she's just a long day today and is sleeping"

"Well what happened in this long day?"

"How about you start driving and ill tell you?" He started driving home.

"First her boyfriend tried to kiss me at the park, then I came here and she was mad, then we made up and went bow-"

"Haven! Get to the point"

I sighed, "Shay's pregnant and the baby daddy is an ass and got mad and left" Ricky shook his head.

"Didn't that almost happen to you?" He asked angrily staring at the road.

I stayed silent not wanting to get into that.

"Mum told me and I'm gonna kick Zayn's ass, not know but when he least expects it"

"No your not Ricky. It's just as much my fault as it is Zayn's. It was an accident"

"I don't care you almost got pregnant and it's his fault" He said looking at me. I felt a few tears fall.

"Ricky-" I said not being able to talk due to the tears.

"I'm sorry-I'm sorry I'm such a screw up and a bad person, I'm sorry I'm not the little sister I'm supposed to be, I'm sorry I'm perfect, I'm sorry I make mistakes, I'm sorry I can't be like you, I'm sorry alright. Pull over" I said.

"What?"

"Pull over" He looked at me weirdly, then pulled over. I got out of the car and started walking away.

"Haven come back here" He said driving next to me.

"Just go home Ricky ill walk" I said beginning to walk the other way.

"Haven get in the car now"

"Why so I can have more of my imperfections thrown in my face? No thanks" I wiped a few tears away and began walking again.

"Haven I'm sorry alright just get in" I sighed and got into the car. As soon as we got home, I raced up the stakes to my room, slammed and locked the door.

I breathed heavily and looked at my bed to find Zayn laying there staring at me.

"I don't know if I should ask what's wrong?" He said kinda scared.

"Ricky is whats wrong, he's just throwing everything I've done wrong in my face." He opened his arms wide and I crawled next to him and laid my head on his chest.

"I try to be up to his standards and be a good sister but obviously it's too hard for me"

"Haven don't say that"

"Why should I not its the truth I try to hard and always end up screwing up"

I heard a knock on the door and then a sigh, "Haven open the door please?" Melissa said.

Zayn got up before I could and unlocked the door allowing Melissa entry.

"Hey what happened?" She asked coming over to my side.

"You know what happened. I'm sure Ricky told you everything?"

"Haven I don't think your a failure, or a screw up, I think you are one of the most amazing people I've ever met, you've changed my life-"

"What?" I asked confused.

"I've never told anyone this, but the day I met you changed my life forever. Your such a bubbly, funny, beautiful, smart person and I never though I could become like you. I was always a snotty annoying brat, but you taught me not to take life for granted and take it day by day not regretting a single thing that happens" She said hugging me tighter.

"And you also taught me to stand up for what I believe in and speak my mind and not others tell me what right from wrong. Just cause Ricky doesn't like what you've become doesn't mean your a screw up. You are one of the nicest, kindest people ill ever meet and without you I'd probably not be here right now. Ricky doesn't wanna be mean he just cares and loves you just as much as the rest of us-...actually no scratch that, he cares more about you than the rest of us." I nodded my head knowing she was right.

"But he made it seem like everything I do is wrong and I mess everything up and I just don't like being put down especially by my own brother" I said wiping some tears away.

"He didn't mean it, he was just caught in the moment, he has to big of a heart to be mad at you for a long time he's probably thinking of a way to apologize to you" I looked at her confused.

"Where is he?"

"He said he needed to clear his head, he said he'd be back in about a half hour" I nodded my head.

We heard a small knock on the door, then Ricky walked in. Both Melissa and Zayn walked in and turned away from Ricky.

"I got you apologetic flowers" He said placing them next to me. I stayed silent.

"Please talk to me? I overreacted earlier, I shouldn't be acting like that towards you and I know, your gonna be an adult next year and you deserve some respect as well as everyone else. If you forgive me I promise I will never in a million years treat you like that again?" He asked obviously crying.

I turned my body slowly and smiled before going into his open arms.

"I'm sorry too for acting how I did" I said realizing I acted like a child.

"It's alright" He said wiping his tears away and smiling.

"Does mum know Zayn's here?" I nodded my head.

"Don't worry nothing is gonna happen, we're both still pretty traumatized" He nodded his and walked out.

Zayn walked back in, "Your brother freaked me out. He was giving me a stare down as he walked by" I giggled.

"Yeah he's still pretty mad about what happened" I said trying to let him know.

"Yeah I am too it was pretty scary" I nodded my head and half smiled.

"Let's just not let it happen again. If that happens again the pill won't work" He nodded his head.
