Darcy's POV

"Hey Darcy," I'm at my locker getting my books for my first lesson, when someone says my name.
I turn around, "oh, hi Max! Did you have a good Halloween?"
"Yes! Shame we couldn't go trick or treating together though."
"Yeah, sorry, it's my brothers fault, they are very protective."
"Don't worry about it. Anyways, what lesson do you have? I'll walk you to it," he says, slightly flushing, at the latter part.
"Aw, that's sweet of you. I've got maths, lemme just grab my folders."

I grab my stuff needed for maths and my next period which is RE.

"Ready?" Max says.
"Yep, let's go," I reply.

Together, we walk down the corridors, I find it's really easy to talk to him, he's nice and down to earth. But he's really tall! I can't believe he's only eleven.

"So, what sports do you play?" I ask him.
"Basketball and athletics," he replies. "Don't you play hockey like everyday? And swimming too?"
"Awesome, yep, hockey is my life! I go swimming every Saturday morning for two hours, but I'm thinking of stopping that, hockey is too demanding. My twin does a lot more swimming though."
"Wow," he says. "You guys keep yourselves fit then."
"Yeah, I guess."
"And has Lucy moved up to high school? That's the rumour going around at the moment - she's like really clever, isn't she?"
"Yeah, but she moved up to eighth grade, not high school!" I chirped. "Well, this is my class, thanks for walking me!"
"It's cool. See ya," he goes with a fleeting grin.

God, he's so hot!

I open my door to my class, and my head can't stop thinking of Max, even though I should be focusing on fractions - as that is the subject matter at the moment!

"Miss Walker! Pay attention!" Mrs Brooke shouts.
"Sorry, miss," I reply, and regain focus.
"What is three quarters times one half?"
"Three eighths," I reply, rolling my eyes, it's so easy!
"Correct, but make sure you listen."
"I was," I reply.
"Don't answer back Walker," Mrs Brookes says fiercely, the class is now totally silent.
"Sorry," I roll my eyes.

Everyone carries on with their work, and miss circles around, marking and helping.

Max. I can't get him out of my head! He is gorgeous, nice and sporty - but also very popular, and he has been out with quite a few girls. Will he ask me out? I like him, but what will my brothers say? And my twin?

"Right, Darcy, let me see your work please," Miss comes to my desk.

Uh oh, I haven't exactly been doing a lot of work...

"Darcy! That is disgraceful! You've only done two questions, and it's end of the lesson - everyone is on question twenty now! This is not good enough."
"Sorry," I huff.
"Detention."
"No! I've got hockey for two hours after school! My coach will kill me!"
"You can do your detention after school and then go for the rest of your practice. It's your fault for not doing your work."

I don't argue back again, as I will only get a worse punishment! But a detention after school is bad enough. I'm gonna have to text Luke and he's gonna kill me, Leo too. And my coach - Amber!

I walk out into the corridor and go to my next lesson, RE.

I'm so fed up! Stupid boys messing with my head! But still...Max...

Lunch Time

"What do you mean you got detention?!" Lucy exclaims, when I told her I had detention for one hour after school.
"I didn't exactly do much work..." I smirk slightly.
"That's not good enough Darcy! Your pretty good at maths - why didn't you do your work?" Lucy huffs as we eat our sandwiches, walking around outside together, in the cold.
"One word Lucy, one word. Max!" I giggle, blushing.
"Tell me!" Lucy squeals.
"He talked to me, and walked me to my class - it was so sweet. I think he likes me!"
"Blimey, wow." Lucy giggles, but then her face goes serious again - "honestly Darcy! You are gonna have to miss hockey! You will only be able to do it for one hour - your coach will not exactly be pleased, will she?"
"I know, I know," I'm so annoyed. "Tell Luke for me, would you, when you he picks you up? He would have cooled off a bit by the time I see him at five," I say, glumly.
"Sure," she sighs.

Four hours later

I served my detention, it was boring! Then I went to hockey, my coach was not pleased that I missed an hour! She gave me a big lecture - blah blah blah. But, ultimately, it was my fault.

Now, I'm on my way to Luke's car - he's gonna kill me!

Luke's POV

I pull up, and wait for Darcy, outside the school gates.

I'm so annoyed at Darcy - she got a detention! Lucy told me when I picked her up.

"Hi," she mumbles, knowing I'm gonna tell her off, as she gets into the back of the car.
"I can't believe you Darcy! It's just not good enough! How did you manage to get a detention?" I say, crossly, as I start to drive.
"Er..." She trails off, looking down.
"Answer me - now."
"I didn't do much work in maths."
"How much work did you do?" I narrow my eyes, angrily.
"Um, two questions," she says quietly.
"Why?" I said plainly.
"I was distracted. Luke, it's only a detention! It's my first one! Tom has had at least four!"
"Darcy! You shouldn't be having detentions - I am not pleased! Especially because your so focused on hockey, you don't spend enough time on your school work as it is. Your bright, but you won't stay bright if you just cruise. Come on Darcy - raise your game!" I sternly say.
"Sorry," she mumbles.
"And why were you distracted, hmm?" I say.
"Erm, I was daydreaming."
"Honestly Darcy. Your grounded. No phone for three days, got it?" I say sternly, as I pull into the drive.
"Yes."

I feel bad for being hard on her, but she needs to work harder at school and at her homework - she is bright and in top sets, but she tends to cruise instead of work hard.

"Spare me the lecture," Darcy says to everyone, looking annoyed as we walk into the kitchen.
"Don't worry Darce, detentions aren't the end of the world!" Tom puts an arm around Darcy.
"Thanks," she sighs, leaning against his chest.
"Tom!" Leo says crossly. "Detentions aren't good."
"Set a good example! Darcy, I want your phone please!" I say.

She silently gives me her phone.

"Darcy, go have a shower, before tea," Leo says.
"Ok," she gives a small smile, and goes.

We have pork chops and vegetables for supper.

"Let's watch some TV before the twins go to bed, yeah?" Tom says.
"Alright, it's only quarter to eight," I reply.
"Yay," Lucy smiles.
"Sure," Darcy says.
"Great," Harry adds.

We all go into the living room, and sit down on the sofa.

Lucy comes and sits next to me, and Harry. Leo, Darcy and Tom is on the other sofa.

"You alright Lu?" I wrap my arm around her, as we watch some comedy.
"Yes, just tired," she puts her head on my lap.

Suddenly, something vibrates and makes a noise. It's Darcy's phone, in my pocket.

I fish it out, and Darcy looks at me, questioningly.

Unknown number, I open up the text, and my eyes go wide. I'm shocked!

"What is it?" Darcy says.
"Read it out!" Leo asks.

"Fine, it reads: Hey, it's Max here. Your cute."

"How dare he!" Tom shouts.
"Tell me what this is about!" I say, looking at Darcy closely, annoyed that a boy is texting her.
Darcy flushes, "he's really nice. I dunno how he got my number."
"That's what I'd like to know!" Leo says, angrily.
"I'm gonna beat him up!" I say, angry that a guy texts my sister.
"Right behind you!" Tom adds.
"Has he touched you or hurt you?" Harry says.
"No! Of course not!" Darcy rolls her eyes.

I thought I had a little more time before I had to deal with my baby girls and boys!
But obviously not.

"You two are not having boyfriends until your thirty!" Leo says.
"Whatever! Can I have my phone?!" Darcy asks.
"NO!" Us lads all shout.
"We aren't letting any boys near you twins," I say.
"Definitely!" Tom agrees.
"C'mon you two, bed," I say, checking my watch.
"Fineeeeeee," Lucy says, dragging out the word.

We all go upstairs and kiss them goodnight when they are ready for bed.

"Gosh, boys already!" Tom smirks, as we all walk back downstairs.
"No, no, no!" Leo shakes his head.

We may be over protective, but our little girls mean everything to us! And trust me, some boys, (only some mind) only want girls for one thing...
