"You first"
"I asked first!" I yelled playfully.
"What are you five?"
"In here yes I am." I said pointing to myeart.
"Well the names Jade Heart if your gonna be like that."
"Jade Heart...I like it. It's pretty."
Her name rolled off my tongue as though I've said it a million times.
"And your name would be..."
"How rude of me! The names Damion Grey but my friends call me Ion for short."
"That's a name I've never heard of, I like it." She said cracking a half smile.
"Why thank you." I said grinning.
For the rest of the night we talked about stuff that wasn't important. It looked like for a few hours that she was relaxed. The dark abyss in her eyes was fading even though it was just a little by the time we had said our goodbyes. It was still there. And you know what that means?
Progress.
I'm helping a person.
She's not gonna end up like him.
