I stopped in my tracks and turned towards my mum.
    "What? Who's Matt."
Her eyes were fiery and fierce.
"Don't pretend you don't know," she said with a hiss, "you talk to him everyday."
I blinked away my tears and cocked my head.
    "I'm not catching on."
Her eyes slanted and her fist started turning white.
"You know I hate it when you lie."
She did. She hated it when I lied. Especially in her face.
"You can't talk to him anymore."
And that's where I broke.

I cried. I balled. My mum just sat there and watched. It hurt.
"I love him!" I cried. My knees felt weak and I fell to the floor.
"Why didn't you tell me!? I'm your own mother!" she choked out.
I didn't know what to do. I just wanted Matt. I want him to tell me it's okay and that he loves me. How did she find out?
Arrietty. Arrietty. Arrietty.
My eyes found my mothers. Round and glazed over. I wiped my eyes.
"Who told you?" I said faintly.
Waterfalls were coming out of her eyes.
    "Arrietty." she said weakly.
