School.
I hate it.
As I walked through the halls I could sense every eye on me.
I knew it was because they all have probably heard about the date by now. I hated the attention. I hurriedly tried making it to my locker with my hoodie over my head.It was going well until I crashed straight into someone's hard and very muscular chest. "Ouch" I muttered as I fell to the ground.
"Are you blind?" A rough voice asked.
The heck you mean am I blind. I looked up ready to give the person a piece of my mind but the words got stuck in my throat as I realized who it was. Alex.
I quickly got up muttering a quiet 'sorry' as I rushed to my locker. He grabbed my upper arm stopping me. His grip tight but yet it sent tingles shooting up my arm. I looked into his chocolate brown eyes as he muttered, "Jordan said to meet him in the café at lunch." He let go of my arm before walking away.
I stood there completely dumbfounded. Is he bipolar? What the heck was that? I shook my head as the bell rung racing towards my locker.

Classes dragged by slowly. As always. I sighed in relief as the lunch bell rang. I headed towards my locked to find Mia waiting there for me. As I approached her Parker walked up to her and they started making out. In front of my locker. What is with people and making out in front of me!
I cleared my throat and they pulled away. "Oh hey Lex." Parker smirked while Mia blushed at me catching them. Again. Yup it happens often.
Parker Mason. My best friend's boyfriend. They've been dating since fifteen. They're perfect together. The only problem is that being friends with them means I'm a third wheel.
At least I'm not the only third wheel though. Thanks to River Reed, Mia's twin brother. "Hey cutie" a voice whispered in my ear. Speak of the devil. I elbowed him in the stomach causing him to let out a sound between a laugh and a grunt.
Mia rolled her eyes at her brother. "River do you ever give up?" She asked as he smirked. River was good looking I had to admit. With his messy brown hair, blue eyes and a killer smile that makes the ladies swoon. He's had a crush on me since last year but I never really thought about it. I assumed it was a phase.
"Nope." He answered, casually slinging his arms over my shoulder. I rolled my eyes but didn't move his arm. He's stubborn, he'll just put it back.
We all walked to the cafeteria laughing and talking. As we entered the café we headed to our usual table. River and Parker leaving to buy our lunch.
"So how was the date? You didn't call yesterday." She pouted playfully. I laughed before sighing.
"It was... something." I didn't want to say anything bad about the date. "Let's just not talk about it. He's taking me out this Friday again." I smiled thinking about it.
"Oh that's great!" She clapped her hands as she smiled too. Her smile vanished as her eyes caught something behind me. She leaned in and whispered, "Hottie alert."
I was about to turn around when Jordan sat next to me. He shot me a pearly white smile, a cute dimple appearing. He has dimples. How did I not notice it before. Swoon.
"Come sit with us? You can bring your friends." He said tilting his head towards Mia.
I looked at Mia for confirmation. She shrugged before nodding. I look back at Jordan. "Sure" I smiled.
He got up and began walking towards his table with Mia and I in tow. As we approached the table I noticed something that made my heart stop. Amber and Alex where there.
Of course they would be here idiot.
Them being there wasn't what caused this effect it was the fact that Amber was sitting on Alex's lap, his hands around her waist as they laughed with their friends.
He's still with Amber? Maybe he's finally settling down.
I frowned at that thought. I hadn't realized I was staring at them until Alex's eyes met mines. I quickly diverted my gaze to the floor. I felt his eyes still on me as a hand draped over my shoulder. I look up to see River smiling down at me. I returned the smile as we continued walking towards the table.
River sat next to Parker who was next to Mia. When did Parker get there? My eyes scanned the table, the only seat available was next to Alex. Oh no.
I almost asked Jordan to switch seats so I could be next to River and him but I didn't want to cause a scene.
I sat feeling a gaze on me. I lifted my head and my eyes met with Alex's once again. This time he diverted his gaze to Jordan. River passed me my lunch and I thanked him.
Throughout the entire lunch period, Alex and Amber where all over each other. No one at the table seemed to mind except me. Jordan tried making conversation with me a couple of times but I wasn't really in the mood to talk. I just gave him a forced smile and an occasional nod.
He eventually realized I wasn't into the conversation and began chatting with River which I was grateful for.
This was more awkward than the date.
Danny, Alex and Jordan's friend also tried talking to me. He even made me laugh a few times. He was handsome and funny. Damn.
Danny Brooks. He of course was a player as well but he never used girls. He warns them beforehand but they still chase after him.
I looked at Alex and Amber who were staring at each other with grins on their faces.
I smiled as I watched them. I was hurt yeah but I liked seeing him happy.
I knew he didn't love me, he doesn't even give me a second glance but I adored him anyway.
