The Camping Trip (Part One):

10th April 2015

Carly sighed to herself as she finished packing. Robbie had given her one of his old school rucksacks to use, she should have been grateful since none of her tiny handbags would fit even a T-shirt but she couldn't help but wish it was a suitcase and that they were all off to Spain for the week. Instead they were going camping for the weekend.

Camping..

Carly shuddered at the thought. No burning hot sun or beaches there. No cute foreign boys the girls could all stare at while Robbie, Nate and Mark weren't looking.  No getting a nice tan or having an opportunity to test out her Spanish skills. Just crappy English weather, mud and bugs.

And a tent.

A fucking tent.

Who the hell would put themselves through such torture? Why would anyone want to sleep on the goddamn ground when you could be in a hotel on a nice comfy bed with a hot shower waiting for you when you got up?

Then there's the bugs. Instead of rubbing suntan lotion all over her body she'd be spraying bug repellent all over herself instead.

And what if they don't have proper showers? How the hell is she supposed to get any dirt off without proper showers? There's no way she was going to just chuck buckets of cold water all over herself.

This was exactly why she'd never gone camping before. It was probably the worst thing she could think of doing. Unfortunately for her everyone else really wanted to go and it's not like she could just refuse. She didn't want to miss out on spending time with all her friends. The guys have been incredibly busy with work lately, as has Hannah. This was their first chance in a while that they'd get to hang out for a whole weekend and she wasn't about to spoil it for everyone.

As much as she hated the idea of camping she loved her friends. She'd just have to suck it up.

"Hey, you ready?"

Carly turned to see Rachel walk into her room ,eying up the rucksack as she did. "Yeah.."

Rachel smiled at her. "Don't look so grumpy Carls, it'll be fine. Mark promised they have proper showers so you won't have to clean yourself in the lake." She assured her. " And he says the weather will be sunny all weekend!"

The idea of proper showers perked Carly up a little but not much. "I hope so otherwise this is going to suck."

Rachel laughed at how dramatic she was being. "It will be fine Carly. You'll be with all your best friends, how can that suck?"

"You're right." Carly admitted with a small smile. "Just make sure we bring that bug repellent, I don't want bites all over my body."

Rachel rose an eyebrow at her as Carly moved to pick up the rucksack causing her hair to fall forward. "Maybe you should tell that to Robbie." She joked.
