The Holiday (Part One):

14th August 2015

Rachel laughed as she watched Nate struggle with her bags. She hadn't asked him to load them into the van Robbie hired, he'd insisted on it, claiming it was the gentlemanly thing to do. Of course when he'd offered, he didn't know just how much she'd packed.

It took over a month but Carly was finally able to rent out the beach house they stayed in every winter. As much as Rachel loved their tradition she was pretty excited to go in the summer for once, it'd be nice to just lie on the beach and relax. Plus Nate had actually been helping her with her fear of water. She still couldn't swim well but she could atleast mess around in the shallow waters with the rest of the group.

"Jesus." Nate grunted at he flung the two bags into the back of the van on top of Carly's 4. "What the hell have you got in those things, the kitchen sink?"

Rachel rolled her eyes at how dramatic he was being, closing the doors as Nate got his breath back. "Just the essentials. Oh and Carly made me bring some stuff."

"That explains it. You've probably got more stuff in those for her than for you." Nate said amused.

"Probably." Rachel agreed.

Carly stuck her head out of the van window. "Hey, you guys ready to go now?" She called out, eager to get on the road.

Rachel sent her a quick thumbs up. "All good here. We just need to wait for Mark, he went inside for a piss." She looked at Nate and sighed. "Honestly why would you let him in there on his own? He's probably going through all our stuff."

Nate chuckled. "Yeah probably but atleast he won't be begging us to pull over constantly."

Rachel scoffed as she climbed into the van. "You're kidding right? He'll want to stop for food at least twice."

"He'll have to wait." Robbie piped up, turning around in his seat. "We've got to get there for 12, no time for stops."

Nate nudged Rachel with his elbow as he climbed in next to her. "Told you you should have eaten breakfast."

"Whatever." She grumbled.

Carly giggled. "Here Rach, for when you get hungry. I knew you wouldn't eat anything, what is it with you and breakfast?"

Rachel accepted the bag Carly offered her and smiled at the sight of two cheese and onion pasties.  "It just makes me feel sick." She told her for probably the 1000th time since they'd started living together.

"God what the hell is Mark doing in there?" Robbie muttered under his breath irritated.

Nate rolled his eyes. "He probably found the beer in the fridge." He told him just as Mark came stumbling out with a six pack under his arm. "Told you." Nate quickly rolled down the window. "Oi, Drinky Smurf , lock the door will you?" He shouted before tossing him the keys to the house.
