"I always liked her better!"
Austin stood in bitter shock as Jeff glared at him, the words leaving an awful taste in the shorter boy's mouth.
"I can't believe you!" Austin screamed in reply, followed by a swift punch across Jeff's face. Jeff growled and quickly recoiled by swatting Austin back. Jeff's face burned ferociously but he didn't show it. He suspected that Austin's promise ring left a nasty scratch on his face. He attempted to keep his emotions in check, but failed royally.
"We were friends!" Jeff shouted, desperation creeping into his voice. Austin suddenly cried out, a sound of pain, with a hint of...hatred?
"This is all Hana's fault!" He screeched. "It's her fault that you're being like this! She corrupted you, with her evil little tricks, and now look what happened to you! You're ruined, Jeff. She just appeared out of nowhere, and you fell for her. No, Jeff, that's not how it works. You don't abandon your friends." Austin swiftly turned and stalked out, grabbing his bag and jacket on the way out. He was muttering and rubbing his knuckles. He slammed the door and ignored Ian's questioning glance to him. Jeff fell back into his chair, deflated.

He could hear the sound of Austin's car pulling away, and he sighed loudly, a sound that only added to the grim atmosphere.
