Jace: i can explain.Explain what, exactly?
I wanted to say, but didn't bother typing it out to send to him. He doesn't deserve my reply.Okay, maybe I am a bit curious about what he has to say cause last time I checked, he has no idea who I am.
Well, he's seen me before, but that totally doesn't count because he doesn't know that I'm that girl who he has been texting with for the past few months.Or does he?
No. No, no, no. It's impossible.
And also, he didn't even bother to send this "i can explain" bullshit to me yesterday. Ugh.Wait, why should I care? I'm such an idiot.
"I see you seem to be in an inner battle between yourself," Max's voice snaps me out of my thought.
"What are you talking about?" I narrowed my eyes at him and he just scoffed and rolled his eyes at me.
"You seem stressed."
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I'm not."
"Don't lie to me, May."
"I'm not lying, Max."
"You're impossible."
"You're stupid."
"Don't push it, child.""Whatever," I rolled my eyes and turned back to the TV.
"I have friends coming over in about five minutes," Max informed me after some time.
"Friends as in the only three people you hang out with or do you actually have more friends that I have yet to discover?"
Max glared at me before turning back to look at his phone. "Like I have any more friends to introduce you to."
"Ah, so it is the three bunch," I nodded knowingly, almost mocking him.
"You annoy me so much. You're lucky I'm such a kind brother who won't harass you with questions like how you seem to be texting with some guy for a while now but hey, I'm just assuming here," he said with a smirk.
"Whatev- wait, what?" my head snapped up to look at him.
"You heard me," he said.
"How did you- wha- Max?" I looked at him, confused.
He sighed and shook his head.
"It surprises me that you're so gullible too," he said."I don't.. understand," I said slowly, trying to piece his words together.
"Figure it out," he said, standing up just as the doorbell rang.
And I swore I could hear him mutter "And he's so stupid" under his breath, although I have no idea what he meant by that either.
I sat there on the couch, still confused as ever because what the heck is my brother talking about???
"May, dah-ling! Your prince has arrived!" Chad's voice called out.
I look over my shoulder to see him making his way towards me.
"Prince? Where is he?" I asked.
"He's standing right in front of you!"
He holds his hands up and does a little twirl. In the most monotonous voice I could muster up, I said, "You're not my prince."
He stopped and stared at me in mock horror and gasped dramatically. "How dare you!"
I rolled my eyes and turned back to the TV, really not feeling in the mood for his games.
"Huh. What's got your panties in a twist?" he said, but I didn't bother coming up with a comeback.
"She's mad slash stressed slash whatever," Max replied.
I sighed. "I'm going out."
"And to where exactly?" Max asked.
"Anywhere else," I shrugged, grabbing my phone, purse and keys and heading towards the coat hanger to put on a coat.
I passed by Alec and Jace as they were just heading in. I spared them a glance and saw Alec looking at me. Or at least I think he was.
"Where are you going?" Jace asked.
"Out," I simply said, opening the front door."Now wait a minute, May. You can't go out now, it's going to rain," Max called.
"That's why I'm using the car, dumbass," I rolled my eyes.
I shifted my gaze towards Alec and caught a glimpse of dark hair and.. were those hazelnut eyes? I don't know.
Maybe my mind's playing tricks on me now.Or..
I walked over to him and pulled down his hoodie, making the blondie next to him gasp.
His hazelnut eyes widened as the hoodie fell from his head.
"May-" Max stopped and stared at the scene before him. Chad came along and stopped in his tracks. "Oh.." Chad said.
"'It surprises me that you're so gullible too', huh?" I scoffed, repeating Max's words earlier.
"May, please. I can explain-"
"No. No need to explain. I've figured it out," I cut Max off and shook my head before turning around and walking out the door.—
I'M SORRY
