I don't remember how long Alarick and I continue to hug each other. When we realize that we can't stay like this forever and we have to return to The Socials, we pull away from each other.

"We should..." I start.

"Yeah," he says.

I can literally feel the awkwardness in the air. We head back to The Socials.

When we enter, I feel as if everyone's eyes are on us. We part ways as we make our way towards our friends. Upon reaching Matt and Darius, I ask in a whisper, "Is it just me or are people really staring at me?"

The people who were staring at me earlier have now turned their heads in the other direction. They must've heard me due to their enhanced hearing.

"They are probably wondering about the status of your relationship with Alarick," Matt replies.

"They can wonder all they want but can they be less obvious about it? I mean their staring is making me uncomfortable," I tell him. "I'm going to our room."

"You're not going to have dinner?" Darius questions.

"Just call me when the dinner is served," I say and head to the room. I want to be alone for a while. I want to be away from the curious eyes of the people.

After dinner, Matt, Darius and I head to our room. I am the first one to lie on the bed.

"What's going on between you and Alarick?" Darius asks.

"For now, nothing is going on between us." I don't know where we are in our relationship or where our relationship is heading or if it's heading in a direction or not. I don't know whether we'll be able to revive our relationship or give up. I'm completely clueless. I don't know what to do.

"So, what are you planning to do now?"

"I'm planning to sleep now," I answer.

"I didn't mean it in that way," Darius says. "I meant--"

"I know what you meant. I just don't want to answer your question because I don't know the answer myself. I'm feeling sleepy. Goodnight," I quickly say and close my eyes. I don't want to answer anymore questions. I want to escape to my dream world where there are no worries and where only peace and happiness exist.

The next morning, I find Alarick, Charles and Daniel boarding the same plane as Matt, Darius and me. But this time, I'm seated far away from Alarick.

"You know, Fate really has a sense of humor," Darius tells me.

"And what makes you say that?" I ask as I put down the magazine.

"Last time when we were on board, you hated Alarick and were seated next to him. And now, when you don't hate him anymore, you're seated far away from him."

I shake my head at him and continue to read the magazine.

After the landing, we make our way to the check-out. When we are outside, I'm surprised to see Mom, Christina and Ciara standing beside our patrol team leader, Xavier. We had told him to pick us up from the airport but what about Mom, Christina and Ciara?

"What are you guys doing here?" I ask them in a curious tone.

"We came to pick you up," Christina cutely replies.

I believe her. But I don't think that Mom and Ciara are standing here for that reason. There must be some other reason...

We all get inside the car and head towards our pack. As soon as we reach our pack, Mom and Ciara take me to my house.

"So, how was The Socials?" Mom questions.

"It was nice."

"Did you see Alarick?" This question comes from Ciara.

"Yes. I even talked to him."

"What did you guys talk about?"

"We didn't talk much. We just talked about trying to work on our relationship."

"So, what are you going to do?" Mom asks.

"I don't know why everyone is asking me that question," I say.

"We're just concerned for you, sweetheart."

"I know that Mom."

"So, are you going to give a second chance to your relationship?"
