Chapter 11

Phil was about to leave school so that he could head back to his house but Dan pulled him back. He pulled on the bottom of his black sleeves and looked up at Phil with wide eyes. "Phil," He started before taking a deep breath and blurting out the question he was meaning to ask. "Will you come back to mine for dinner? My mum wants to meet you."

"Does she really? Why?" Phil was quite taken aback at the idea of meeting Dan's parents. He didn't even know why.

"Because you're the first friend I've ever had."

"Am I really? That's cute." Phil slipped his hand into Dan's before walking in the direction of Dan's house instead of his own.

"So you're Phil? I've heard a lot about you." Dan's mum laughed as soon as Phil introduced himself. "Dan talks about you all the time."

"No, I don't!" Dan was trying to hide his face with his hand because he was blushing like crazy. Phil thought it was very cute. "Phil, come on." Dan took Phil's hand and dragged him upstairs to his bedroom.

Phil gasped as soon as his eyes laid upon the sight of Dan's room. Tiny, plastic stars and planets were stuck on the ceiling and Phil recognised them to be the ones that lit up in the dark. He thought it was adorable that Dan had them: it just showed his passion for space. Dan also had a large bookcase against one wall, filled with books about the solar system and anything else to do with space. Even Dan's bed covers were black with tiny stars on.

"You really do like space, don't you?" Phil found himself saying as he looked around the room in awe.

"Of course I do! Do you want to play video games or something?"

"Sure."

Dan and Phil literally played Mario Kart until Dan's parents called them down for dinner a couple of hours later. Both boys eagerly ran downstairs, their stomachs craving food.

"So, Phil..." Dan's dad started as he reached out to take a slice of the pizza in the middle of the table. "Do you promise you won't hurt my son?" Phil almost choked on the pizza he was eating: of course he wouldn't hurt Dan, why would he?

"I promise. He's my best friend though, so why would I hurt him?" Phil ended up saying once he swallowed the pizza he had almost choked on.

"Dan, I need to go now." Phil mumbled after they had finished dinner.

"Wait a moment." Dan said in response before walking out of the room. He returned a couple of minutes later with something in his hand. He handed it to Phil who noticed that it was one of the stars from Dan's ceiling. "Keep it... you know, just because."

"Just because what?" Phil chuckled, kind of confused as to why Dan had given him a plastic star.

"It means a lot to me and I want you to have it because you mean a lot to me too. It can remind you of me or whatever."

"That's so cute." Phil walked over to Dan's front door, holding the plastic star firmly in his hands. "Before I leave." Phil turned back to face Dan and leant forward. He pressed his lips against Dan's.

Dan was blushing as Phil pulled away.

"Goodnight." Phil murmured as he walked out of Dan's home.

Phil's mum walked into Phil's bedroom to find her son standing on top of his bed, sticking a star to the ceiling. "Where did you get that from?" She asked, making Phil jump and almost fall off of the bed.

"Dan gave it to me." Phil grinned widely as he said Dan's name.

"You really like him, don't you?" Phil was still smiling as he stepped down from where he was on his bed.

"I do... he's my best friend."

"Do you by any chance like him as more than a friend?" Phil's eyes widened and he stiffened slightly (Phil's mum took that as a 'yes'). "Do you know if he likes you back?"

"He does. He told me he does."

"Are you together? That explains so much-"

"No, we aren't. We have kissed a few times though."

"You need to ask him on a date."

Wow I am updating again this week because I need your opinions..

For the last week or so, I have been writing a prequel to this story. I have finished writing it all out and everything but I am not sure if I should post it?

It goes into depth about Dan and Phil's past. Dan's is mostly about how he survived depression and Phil's is about him learning he was gay and all of that? The chapters will alternate between Dan and Phil? I don't know.. should I post it?
