Different But The Same

Chapter 6

After hearing what the panicked boy had to say, all eyes were wide with horror; Kanan attempted to calm his Padawan whilst the Council spoke "don't worry Ezra, I won't let him take you" he reassured. Master Kenobi was the first to speak "we need to keep this Darth Vader away from the temple" they all agreed completely before Kanan chipped in "he's the dark side of Anakin so can;t you tell us something that we can use against him??" he asked. All eyes turned to Master Skywalker who seemed to be thinking "...aim for his arm is all I can think of for a physical weakness" he tried to come up with other things that could potentially help but if Vader really was a Sith lord then he wouldn't have any emotional or mental weaknesses. So with that knowledge, Anakin, Kenobi, Kanan, Ezra, Yoda and Depa made their way to leave the temple; Kanan hurried to tell Hera what was happening over their com link. They exited the temple and approached the path - the presence of Vader could now be sensed as they walked....and it was becoming stronger. Ezra was the first to feel it as he wrapped his arms around himself. 

All of a sudden....he was there. Approaching them in strides was the one and only (sort of) Darth Vader; he ignited his lightsaber as he spoke in the voice that all feared and ran from "this battle will be your doom". That was all he said before attacking - everyone dodged or blocked the attacks, igniting their own weapons in the process. The fight was tough, no one could deny it "you will turn and join me, my apprentice" Vader stated as he used the force to control the teens saber; Ezra somehow managed to push the Sith away, breaking his concentration in the force which regained him his weapon before being pulled away and behind his Master "you'll never lay a hand on him!!" Kanan exclaimed, fury and protectiveness burning in his eyes "I won't let you!!". The attacks continued until it began to seen the five Masters and Padawan were going to be the victors; Vader seemed to realize this too and force pulled them all to the floor over twenty feet away. "This isn't the end my apprentice!!" the Sith promised "you will turn to the dark side and be mine!!" after that, he rushed into his TIE fighter and was out of there before they could get up and off of the floor. 

The six got up and patted themselves down to rid them of the dirt of their clothes, as well as some groaning - they'd have some bruises in a few hours, that's for sure. "Come on...let's get back to the temple and speak with the others" Depa stated; they all knew there would be quite a few conversations within the Jedi Council after this; they became the thirty minute trip back. Waiting by the large doors of the temple, the rest of the Ghost crew were stood there, all with anxious and concerned faces waiting for their return; Hera instantly pulled the two males into a tight embrace, stating how terribly worried she was. Sabine lightly punched Ezra's shoulder whilst Zeb ruffled his hair - they were both glad that he and Kanan were okay...minus the few scrapes and already forming bruises. The Masters left the crew to speak with the other high Jedi Masters; what they had just dealt with was serious and most likely a danger for the future. "What in the name of the force happened then??" Hera asked as they sat down in their own little common room - it connected all of their rooms which was nice; both Master and Padawan explained everything and answered their questions.

It was Ezra's question that made the room turn silent for a moment "what...what if he does get me??" all eyes turned to him "what if he does....turn me to the dark side somehow and....I become his apprentice??" it was a clear worry for the boy and who could blame him?? A Sith lord was after him for force sake!! Both Kanan and Hera sat of either side of the teen "he won't" Hera stated, determination and truth in her voice "we won't let him...we're a family Ezra...and we're not letting you go" she spoke slow ad clear so that it would allow the teen to understand and process what he was being told. Kanan smiled as he chipped in "she's right" they all agreed "you're stuck with us kid, whether you like it or not".
