Different But The Same

Chapter 11

An hour after the attack, Anakin took his daughter to the store with a long list of supplies for later; they were hosting small party tonight and needed some food, drinks and other supplies. Padme was in the kitchen baking a chocolate cake....or trying to at least, whilst Ezra and Luke were in the middle of cleaning the living room, dining room and the bathroom. "This is boring!!" the small toddler exclaimed as he put his toys away in a chest; Ezra sighed "I know but it needs to be done" he paused for a moment before groaning "christ, I sound like Kanan and Hera". After a long while, they were finally finished; Luke ran off to his bed room to play whilst the teen entered the kitchen "hey Padme, everywhere but in here is clean now" he informed "need any help??" the woman smiled at the boy as she rubbed her forehead "thank you Ezra, and I do actually" the Padawan listened up "you don't by any change know how to make chocolate cake, do you??" she asked, silently praying that he did as her....creation....was most definitely inedible. To the woman's relief, the teenager nodded "I'm pretty sure there's a recipe in my mum's diary, I'll go get it" he hurried away and was back with thirty seconds; he was flipping through the pages before smiling "aha!! Here it is, my mum's chocolate volcano cake" he explained what exactly was in the cake and what made it a 'volcano' - it was a chocolate sponge cake, a chocolate cream connecting the two sponges together and then a delicious chocolate sauce squeezed in the middle. It was very chocolaty. 

"Okay then, I'll leave you to deal with the cake" Padme smiled before beginning to cook other little treats like cookies and scones, followed by healthy treats as well. The woman also watched the teen bake and took note "since that was your mother's diary, have you read anything shocking??" she asked as she began to cut up some fruits; the teen halted for a moment as he thought "em...I guess, turns out when she found out she was pregnant with me, she was...going to get an abortion" Padme was certainly not expecting that "...oh". The teen chuckled as he continued "thankfully, she clearly didn't go through with it thanks to my dad, she just didn't feel....ready". The two continued to talk and cook when all of a sudden, a joyful yell was heard "mummy!! Ezzy!!" it was Luke....stood on a very high up shelf!? "Watch me fly!!" and the next thing they knew, he jumped off of the shelf, his arms spread out ready to 'fly'!! "Luke no!! You're dad's not here!!" Padme screamed in horror as her eyes widened; Ezra's were the same. The teenager allowed his instincts to take control and reached out through the force to catch the child before allowing him to drop into his arms once he was a foot above "Ezzy!! You stopped me flying" Luke pouted; Padme took a deep breath to calm her heart "Luke Skywalker, never do that again" she ordered, her tone taking that of a warning "you know you're not allowed to jump off of high things when your father isn't around!!" she stated "you're lucky Ezra was here and caught you". The child seemed to realize that he was done wrong "sorry mummy, thank you Ezzy" they all smiled as the teenager spoke "just be more careful from no one" and with that, Ezra placed the child onto his feet and returned to the kitchen. 

Soon enough, Anakin and Leia returned home; the girl went to her room to change into her clothes for the party - her brother doing the same. Padme informed her husband of what had happened "he's going to get himself seriously injured one day, or even worse" she lectured; the man nodded and promised that he'd talk to their son. Ezra finished decoration the cake before going off to take a shower; Padme had given him a set of smart clothes to wear for the party so he changed into them after drying off; he now wore a pair of black jeans, black combo boots and a dark red button up shirt - the top two buttons undone of course. He brushed his damp hair before throwing it up into a small ponytail again, a little neater this time though. Once ready, the teen left his room and entered the living room to see the twins sat on the sofa watching something on the holo-net: Leia wore a pretty white dress whilst Luke wore a smart green t-shirt and a pair of light blue jeans. The teen checked they were okay before walking into the dining room...to see Anakin grab a knife and approach the cake. "Oh no you don't" the boy used the force to summon the knife out of the Jedi Knight's hand who groaned "oh come on!! I'm hungry" he stated earning an eye roll "then you'll have to wait till dinner like everyone else". Ezra was really beginning to sound like Hera now. He guessed it came with being around little kids....and big kids (*cough* Anakin *couch*). As the two sat and joined the kids Ezra spoke again "so who's coming to this party??" he asked, forcing the Master to think "hmm, let's see...some of Padme's old friends who are in town for a few days, as well as some from work, some of my own mates and Ahsoka said she'd come over for a few hours before curfew" the teen nodded before looking at Leia who was crawling over to him from the other end of the sofa. 

Half an hour later and Padme was ready; she walked of of her room and smiled at the four sat down - she wore a beautiful light green dress, matching heals and a light shade of makeup. "Whoa Ezra, you look very handsome" she complimented once he stood up to stretch; the teen held back his light blush "thanks Padme, you look amazing". An hour passed by and it was five pm; the guests were beginning to arrive and Anakin was finally allowed to eat some of the food. The cake was still off limits though. Ezra thought everyone was there as he stood and spoke with Ahsoka and Anakin, but there was another knock on the door; Padme raced through the crowd and opened the door, ushering the last guests in. They were her old friends that she hadn't seen in over four years. It was a couple and their child, a little boy near the age of the twins. "It's so good to see you again Padme" the woman stated as the two hugged "likewise my friend". The child, once his father had helped him remove his coat, ran off to join Luke and Leia. Padme and her husband introduced the couple to everyone, lastly Ezra who had been making drinks for everyone. Anakin somehow managed to get through the many people until he reached the teen "hey Ezra, Padme and I want to meet some old friends of ours" Ezra nodded as he placed his drink on the side and followed the man; they reached Padme first and heard her speak "- the boy from another universe that I told you about" she was talking about him. Once the teenager caught sight of the couple and their faces, Ezra felt his heart stop, his breath caught in his throat and his eye widen 'no...it can't be....it's impossible!!' his thoughts screamed. Stood in front of him was....his parents!! Very much alive!!
