How did you discover Wattpad?
I have been a member since November 20th 2012. I discovered Wattpad after talking to my friend @Jeanette_deGasque101 She was online and I noticed her looking at a lot of text. After watching her I became interested and started checking out Wattpad myself. I’ve been addicted since.
How did your interest for writing originate?
I have always loved to read and I have a very large imagination. When I was 12 I attempted to write werewolf and dragon books but I never had the inspiration to finish them. I lost track of the books that I had. When I discovered Wattpad, I began writing again. My imagination keeps me writing.
What was the inspiration for your story?
Honestly I am inspired by the different books I read. When I read I sometimes think of ways to improve it and those ideas turn into something new that I end up turning into a book.
How did you come up with the idea for your story?
Most of my ideas are just ideas that come to me that I edit as I write.
Did you stick to your original plot or changed it?
I never plan out what I write. It just comes to me. Just like life for most people. It turns out better if you wing it. And with my books the ideas just come to me. I can’t ever control the ideas either. I just follow them.
Who is your favorite character from your story?
My favorite character would have to be Demeter only because I can relate to her the most and I haven’t brought any other characters into the story that I like more.
Are your characters based on real life people?
Indirectly each character represents someone I know. Their personalities or actions relate to people I know. Demeter would be me in her personality and how she is an outcast. Hera would be my mother in the way that she takes care of me and supports me even when she should worry about herself first. Cedric would represent all of the people I despise mainly because they use money to get what they want before thinking about what others would like; all the Cedric’s in the world are very self-centered. John would represent my biological father and ex-step mom. Both had made my childhood hell trough verbal abuse. And lastly Jackie Renold would represent my best friend Julie, who tries everything in her power to cheer me up every day no matter what is going on.
If your life was a book what would be the title?
“A Mind Behind the Pain of Life.”
Can you say something extra about your book readers don’t know?
The books are like my playground. In my mind I live each life that is described in the books. As I write, I am Demeter and I see through her eyes and move her hands and hear her thoughts. It’s like I’m in a different world that I can shape whenever I feel that it needs improvement. But this world of mine that I make can’t be changed once it happened. I am unable to go back and change anything in a story. It may seem like I can but I’ve tried and I just can’t seem to make it change.
Have you ever had a writer’s block? How do/did you overcome it?
I get them a lot, mostly when I get busy in life and have to stop writing. When I come back, I can’t seem to get my place or figure out where the story is headed. I normally wait a few days to see if I can get that idea back but if I can’t I’ll read back through the last few chapters and that normally helps.
Anything extra you would like to add?
As an Author, it is hard to write and do what I do. I have so many factors in my life that push me to forget my books. But my mind and imagination always brings me back. But if I didn’t have that motivation, I would have giving up on my books. Many people know me for my other books, “Hybrid.” I almost gave up on that book multiple times simply because no one wants to read something new. It’s always about what’s popular. If you really want to find a good book, look for books with good openings. A cover isn’t everything but a summary will draw you in. They don’t always have to be the popular books. Every book has to start from 0 reads. Reach out and give those books a chance. They could be tomorrow’s Hunger Games, Twilight, or Eragon. You never know.
