General Questions About My Writing/ Training Wheels

Okay dudes and dudettes, I got some questions to answer about Training Wheels yeet,,, I stole them from my fave tumblr user.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
• I'm still pretty young myself (you all don't need to know how old I am), so I couldn't make Kylo and Hux adults because I couldn't see into the mind of an adult guy anyway. But I still wanted to make them a little older than me so I made them 18 and 20. I wrote it in Kylo's POV and I made him sort of naive and impressionable, and he's pretty pissed off and emotional too just like the canon one. And for Hux, I just made him how he really is, with a mix of my own character traits. Some of the events in the fix were inspired by my life irl but we will get to those questions later. ;)
2: What scene did you first put down? • The very first scene. Simple answer, I know. I'm the sort of person who writes out outlines for their fics in detail lmao.
3: What's your favorite line of narration? • The part where Ben is reliving all of the moments he's shares with Hux from start to finish in his head.
4: What's your favorite line of dialogue?• Either the one in Chapter 10 where Hux is like, "The last time a girl looked at me the way you do, I almost got laid." or in Chapter 14 where Ben is infatuated with his appearance and he just goes, "Your outfit probably costs 1000 cups of Top Ramen." because lmao those 2 quotes were based off real life and they kind of sound like something I'd say. Is that weird? No? Let's continue.
5: What part was hardest to write? • the scene where they nearly fucked honestly. Or the one in chapter 16 where Leia was chewing Kylo out. Idk, I just get writer's block sometimes but tbh they were all sorta easy to write.
6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? • I put my heart and soul into writing this fic and I LOVE IT. I am thrilled to get started on the 2nd one. I'm not saying that I don't love my other fics but this one is definitely my all time fave.
7: Where did the title come from? • So I'm self proclaimed Melanie Martinez trash and I titled it after my favourite song by her. That's the thing about my kylux series- each of the books in the trilogy will be titled by one of my favourite songs about love :)
8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it? • some of the quotes from Ben are from my brother tbh.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? • Not really. There's a different version on ao3 but the only reason that it's different is because there's different tags. Nothing more.
10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story? • I. Love. Kylux. It's my otp. I love it more than Romione, Drarry, Whouffle, Dramione, Tenrose, Stucky, etc. This is my absolute favourite ship.
11: What do you like best about this fic? • I can't choose, man! I love every part of this book sooooooo much. <3
12: What do you like least about this fic? • the grammatical errors that I'm too lazy to fix and I feel like for some scenes, I should've been more elaborate. I'll fix that in the second book.
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading? Well, I actually listened to Maroon 5 Top Best Hits usually and I listened to Training Wheels by Melanie Martinez, which was the title for this fic. Also, I listened to some of the nightcore versions of the songs from panic! at the disco's new album, including Death of a Bachelor, Crazy=Genius, House of Memories, Hallelujah and Emperor's New Clothes. :)
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
• I want my readers to learn what a trusting, lasting relationship is and the components of it.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic? • I myself leaned what a trusting, lasting relationship is through writing this fic. I also think I became a better writer.
