On a hot and sultry day
A reaping took place
In the district of livestock in Panem

A girl shouts "I volunteer!"
To take her friend's place

She heads to the Capitol
With her tribute partner Ryu Lamont

She shows her strengths
And combats her fears

She ruled out her adversaries
Amidst the flood of rainwater and blood
She murdered a psychotic angel
In a heaven unlike one imagined
She prevailed in a race
Besting others on horse and chariot
She revisited her fears
With a boy from the district of technology...

She broke at the words of her older brother
The ones he had so mercilessly uttered
From the district of livestock in Panem

"He doesn't need me," she thought
"As he said, I was only a fool
And so a fool I could only be"
Thought the girl from the district of livestock in Panem

And with that, she decided
To forget her troubles and her fear
To end what she had been fighting for

Gone was the girl from the district of livestock in Panem.

So quick to perish, yet her spirit lives on
With her family, her friends, the people she loved

A brave soul she was
One never to be forgotten
As long as the sun shone bright in her district
