They say love could heal
And healed I thought I was
When I looked into your eyes and accepted your confession

They say love could ameliorate
And ameliorate I thought I had
With every whisper and kiss, a blessing like a prayer

They say love could strengthen
And strengthened I thought I was
As I stayed in your loving embraces, embracing comfort and warmth

But they say love could wound
And wounded I had ended up being
As Cupid's faulty arrow hit another that wasn't me.
