"It meant nothing!" Hunter shouted at me the next day after I slowly brought up 'the kiss' that led to a full on 'make out.' Hunter had been increasingly defensive over it and had bolted upright in bed.

I held back my dissappointment. "Nothing?"

"Nothing! It was...friendly!"

I could have burst out laughing.

I mean, of course I wanted it to have meant something much more than nothing. But friendly? Someone shoot this boy in the face. Was he embarrassed? Or did he really think of it as nothing but friendly?

I was getting overly paranoid.

Because for me...it was an intoxiating moment which I would remember for the rest of my life.

If it was simply just friendly for Hunter, then why should it mean anything to me?

Hunter face palmed himself. "Shit, no. I lied!"

"Did you?"

"Yes!" He looked dazed for a few seconds before blurting out. "No!"

"Making up your fucking mind!"

"I lied about it being friendly!" He admitted.

"What?"

"You're not my friend!"

"I'm not your friend?"

"Shit, no! You are my friend. You're just..." he seemed to be searching for the right word. "It meant nothing!"

"If it meant nothing then why did you do it?!"

"It was the pills!" He cried. "Ever since I started taking those pills for the anemia, I started acting different. It wasn't me! The pills did it to you!"

I was kind of annoyed that Hunter had made up such a pathetic excuse, but at the same time I was furiously biting back my laughter.

I raised an eye-brow. "The pills kissed me?"
