"G-good morning S-sir, M-ma'am Vice." A girl in her lousy corporate attire welcomed me in my Dad's company.
Why am I here? Definitely not for business. I'm here for Vhong. Kaya lang naman ako nakapunta dito ngayon dahil ang Daddy ay nasa hospital pa rin. He just woke up from coma. Ang galing talaga nila magmanipulate ng media, I never knew how bad it was that happened to him not until I visited him sa hospital last night. Good thing nobody's there to see me. Aaminin ko, nalungkot ako seeing the old Viceral that weak, all complete with tubes and those beeping sounds that awakened one scary moment in my life.
I thought he was just simply confined, I was expecting a strong willed old man who would push me out of his sight pero hindi, sumalubong lang sa akin ang isang malamig na kwarto na may isang matanda na mahimbing na natutulog.
"Ah, d-do you need the key for Sir C-carlos' office Ma'—Si...." Tanong nanaman muli ng babae. I rolled my eyes, buti nakashades ako, atleast I wouldn't offend her. Nakakainis, lagi na lang ganito, mga natataranta pag nakikita ako, it feels like I'm never welcome here by the way they stare at me. And I can also hear them whisper at each other. Lumabas na kasi ang mga haka haka that I finally approved of taking over Dad's position simula ng dumating ulit ako dito sa Pilipinas.
Well. Heck no.
"Sir." I clarified dahil mukhang hindi nila alam kung pano ako i-address. "And no need. Is Vhong here? Siya ang kailangan ko." I calmly said. Wala ako sa mood magsungit.
"A-ah. 4th floor Sir, 2nd room to the right, yung glass door po. I-I have to call his office to tell him you're here. Paalis po yata siya eh."
"K." Sabi ko lang at dirediretso na akong umakyat.
Pagbukas ko ng pintuan ay ang gulat na mukha ni Vhong ang sumalubong sa akin.
"Akala ko nagbibiro lang sila nung sinabing andito ka." Pagbati ni Vhong sa akin. Suminghal lang ako sa kaniya bilang sagot ko.
"Welcome back Vice! Gusto ko yang porma mo. Di ko makita si Jose Marie. You've been missing these past few days eh. Kala ko nagbalik loob ka na." Pang-aasar nito at napatingin ako sa suot ko. Galing kasi ako sa isang event at hindi na ako nagpalit.
