Chapter 9: New Kid

I could not forget what happened yesterday. It's ok _____, you don't like that guy. Your probably just confused. I said to myself in the mirror while getting ready for school. I went to eat breakfast as usual but I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't realise I was pouring water on the table instead of the cup.

"Ya! Careful!" Yoongi said as he wiped off the water that got on his shirt as well. I snapped back to reality and apologised as I started cleaning the water on the table. Unfortunately, I accidentally cut a little bit of the skin on my wrist with a knife that was laying on the table. I winced in pain because the knife touched a little bit of the scars on my wrist that I got from a fight with my dad last time. My skin bled a little. Yoongi panicked and quickly grabbed some tissues. I pulled back and told him not to worry because I didn't want him to see the scars. He managed to grab my arm back and his eyes widened with concern when he saw the scars. I quickly pulled away and pulled my blazer sleeve down to hide the scars. I gestured him to lower his head since  he was much more taller than me. Or is it that I'm just short...

I then whispered so that the others won't hear,"Don't tell anyone. Don't worry. I didn't cut myself. I'll explain later." I think he was going to ask more questions but I left the kitchen before he could say anything. The guys were outside watching TV. I sat down on the sofa with them and put on my socks. As I was doing so, Jin cleared his throat and asked,"I'll pick you up after school today. Is that OK?" I was about to deny but I knew he would win anyways so I just nodded. Plus it's not like I get free rides home everyday. I said my goodbyes and left for school.

It was the first period of school which was homeroom. I was just sitting in m6 desk quietly listening to music while waiting for our teacher to come in. I looked at the empty chair beside me. Everyone had a seat mate except me because our class has an odd number of students. Plus, everyone doesn't want to sit beside me. I was fine with it since I wasn't interested in sitting with the others anyways.

I heard the classroom quietened down. I knew the teacher had enter the classroom and kept my earphones away. I looked up to see the teacher walking to the front of the class. Behind her was a girl. She had a good figure and her hair was silky black. The guys in my class must have liked it. From the side view, she was very beautiful. Even more beautiful than the school 'queen' Ah Reum up front. I looked at Ah Reum's direction and I could see that she did not like the attention the new girl was receiving. I smirked. I don't know about the new girl but I was glad that Ah Reum will be out of the main spotlight for a change. I looked down at my lap and played with my fingers. I didn't really need to look at the teacher. I just listened to her.

"All right class! I am sure you are all very excited but you have to be quiet in order for me to introduce your new classmate to everyone," my teacher said. The class became quiet again. She continued,"I would like to introduce to you your new classmate Lee Chaerin!" I immediately looked up and saw Chaerin standing in front of the classroom, smiling as she bowed and greeted. " Hello everyone, my name is Lee Chaerin! Nice to meet you all!" she said and everyone clapped and cheered. My mouth dropped open as Chaerin stood in front of the class. "Alright Chaerin. You can sit at that empty seat next to _____ over there at the back of the class," our teacher said. Chaerin looked over at me. I saw her face fell a little when she saw me but immediately smiled again and waved at me. I pretended not to notice and smiled back politely. The guys were all staring at her the whole time. Ah Reum and her minions were glaring at her. She sat beside me and said, " Hi! I didn't know we're going to be in the same class at all! I'm glad that I know at least someone." I just stared at her.  I didn't know what to say at all or how to react. I own brushed it off when the teacher came into class and started teaching.

Chaerin was so clingy and was so close to me. She did not leave me alone for one second at all. During lunch, she sat with me. It was weird at first because I was used to sitting alone but then I started being more comfortable around her. It was nice to have someone to be with for once. I soon did not mind her presence at all. Turns out we have alot in common. We both love BTS (obviously), Big Bang and Exo!! We also love reading except that Chaerin lives fantasy books while I love contemporary. For once I fangirl with someone instead of by myself in my room. We were laughing and talking the whole day that I didn't even notice the boys staring at Chaerin and Ah Reum glaring at us. I know that Chaerin was faking and that she actually doesn't want to be friends with me. I don't know why she wants to get close to me even though she doesn't like it but I don't mind. I feel happy to have a friend for once.

We had gym next. Me and Chaerin got dressed in our gym clothes and headed to the hall where our teacher is waiting for the class. We were playing badminton and I was so excited. I love playing badminton and Chaerin wanted to partner up with me. We were so happy while playing badminton and laughing so much. The boys were of course staring at Chaerin the whole time which made Ah Reum jealous. If her boyfriend Haneul couldn't keep his eyes off Chaerin which made Ah Reum even more pissed. While we were playing badminton, Ah Reum stuck her foot out when Chaerin was running to hit the shuttle and fell.

"Ow!!!!" Ah Reum walked away smirking. I glared at her before helping Chaerin up. We both fell down back again and Chaerin winced. "I think I sprained my ankle." I was worried. I tried to carry her once more. Somehow I felt that she was lighter than before. I looked over at her other shoulder and saw Haneul supporting Chaerin. He slung Chaerin's arms across his shoulder ad looked at me. I nodded his head which made me realise that I was not supporting Chaerin. I quickly slung her arms over my shoulders and Haneul and I carried her to the nurse's office.

In the office, the nurse was treating Chaerin's ankle. Me and Haneul was standing in the corner so that we won't be disturbing the nurse. I looked at him and said a quiet thank you. Once the nurse finished treating Chaerin's leg, we both approached Chaerin.

"Are you OK? Did it hurt really bad?" I asked . She nodded her head and said, "Not that much. I'm fine." Me and Haneul let out a huge breath that we didn't realise we were holding. I quickly excused myself to go to the bathroom, leaving the two of them alone in the office.

School was over by the time me and Haneul brought Chaerin out of the nurse office. Haneul volunteered to get our bags in the classroom so me and Chaerin waited for him at the benches outside school. Once he came with our bags, we thanked him. We were about to leave when all of a sudden, Haneul stopped us. I looked at him. "I'll help you bring her home." he said looking at me. Before I could say anything, we were both walking and supporting Chaerin at the same time.

The journey to Chaerin's house was quiet but I didn't mind because it was already awkward.

We soon reached the front door of Chaerin's apartment. Chaerin's mother came out and looked really shocked ad worried when she saw Chaerin's bandaged foot. I explained what happened to her mother and she thanked us for helping. She closed the door leaving me and Haneul alone. We both slowly went outside the building. I had no choice because I could not let people find out where I live. When we were outside, I said,"Well you should get going! I am sure your tired," I said.

"It's ok! I'll walk you home!" Haneul insisted. I shook my head and examined to him that my house is near by. After a few seconds Tring to convince him to leave, he finally said that he will go home first. I watched walk a few steps then stopped and turned around so that he is facing me.

"Why?" I asked. He then said something that I thought he would never say, "I'm sorry.... About...about the other day. I shouldn't have...have done that," he apologise as he looked down at his shoes. It took me awhile to process everything but I hen started to smile. "It's ok. As long as you don't do it again."

He smiled at me and nodded. "It's won't do it again. I hope we can be closer and maybe friends!" I nodded and waved him off as he walked away. When he was out of sight, I started to make my way back to the dorms.

Hey guys!! This is the update!! I apologise again for the late update! I didn't have that much time these past few weeks! I am not getting my 8 hours of sleep at all. Thanks for being patient guys! You guys are great. I keep checking Wattpad though and I saw that my story gained about 700 plus readers! I am so thankful and grateful that you guys read this.
