Connie looked at the piece of paper as they drove to the house.
She now knew his last name, Carter.
Jacob pulled up then they walked up the path to the door.
There was a car in the drive this time and lights on in the house.
Connie knocked, standing shaking with nerves on the front step.
The door opened a few minutes later, and the smile that Mason had on his face dropped.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"We... We came to talk to you. I'm sorry we didn't believe you, well, they I didn't believe you. It was just difficult, we were confused, still are" Jacob explained.
"You chucked me out, you told me not to come back. No chance, didn't let me explain at all, and, wait you're not pregnant anymore" Mason said as he looked to Connie.
"No I'm not. And we'd really like you to meet your baby sister, please" Connie replied.
"You say it as if you know I'm your son now" he said.

"We'd like a DNA test, just for piece of mind. But yeah, we honestly believe you are our son" Jacob reassured him.
"What changed your mind?" Mason asked.
"A news paper article about your birth, and my mother's diarys. Containing details of finding our baby a new mother, bribing the doctor, who then killed himself out of what we assume was guilt" Connie replied.
"It all fits with what you've said, and Connie was right, I guess you do look a lot like me" Jacob added.
Mason nodded, "so what now?" he asked.
"Move in with us" Connie blurted out, not even thinking.
Both Jacob and Mason looked at her in shock, "I've known you less than a week. I know you're my real parents and everything but I hardly know you. Anyway I wouldn't want to get under your feet, with the new baby and everything" he said.

"Oh, yes ok. Just bring a DNA sample to the ED when you can" Connie said then she turned around and walked down the path.
Mason went to call after her but couldn't, he didn't know what to call her.
"Connie wait" Jacob said but she didn't listen and got into the car.
"Sorry" Mason said sympathetically.
"It's not your fault, she's hormonal, in shock, upset. She'll cheer up again soon" he replied.
"Yeah... She said she wanted me to meet the baby, did she mean today?" he asked.
"I'm sure it couldn't hurt, so yeah if you wanted to come with us now you could" Jacob said.
"Ok, thanks" Mason smiled.

They walked back to the car, Connie looking up as the door opened and Mason climbed into the back.
"What are..." she said.
"Well you said I have a baby sister to meet" Mason replied.
Jacob started the engine as Connie nodded and smiled.
"So, would I be allowed to ask how you got together? And how you ended up having me at sixteen?" Mason asked.
Both Connie and Jacob began chuckling as they thought back to their teenage years, this was going to be a long story.
