Chapter 20

"Connie, you've brought Tali in" Charlie said as he approached them.
She smiled and nodded, holding the car seat out as Jacob and Mason came up behind her.
"Can I have a cuddle from her?" Charlie asked.
"Of course, actually would you mind coming to my office? I need to talk to you" she replied.
Charlie nodded and looked between Connie, Jacob and Mason, "who's this?" he asked.
"That's why we need to talk to you" Connie said.
"I'm some kid that everyone keeps staring at" Mason said as he looked around, seeing many eyes fixed on him.
"All of you either find some work to do or I'll fire the lot of you!" Connie shouted at them before walking towards her office.
"Woah, I really hope she never shouts at me like that" Mason said to Jacob.
"Oh believe me, if you're anything like me, she'll have to do it all the time" Jacob replied with a groan.

Charlie followed them into Connie's office then closed the door.
"So what's this about?" he asked.
"You remember me telling you about Mason don't you?" Connie replied as she handed Tali to him.
"Yes of course" Charlie nodded.
"Well, Charlie, meet Mason. Mason, meet Charlie" Jacob said.
Charlie's eyes went wide, "Mason? This is Mason? Your dead son?" he asked.
"Less dead, more illegally put up for adoption by my shit stir crazy pathetic excuse for a mother but yes, this is him" Connie told him.
"Wow, this is... Well I guess it's great, you've got your son back!" Charlie said.
"Yes, and we were wondering if you had any work going here, say for an aspiring doctor wanting experience as an HCA" Connie said, giving Charlie a sweet smile.
"Yes Connie" he laughed, "I can give him a job, we have a position open after Big Mac left" he explained.
"Thank you" Mason smiled to Charlie.
"Not a problem, it's great to meet you" Charlie said.
"Like wise" Mason grinned.

"Now I think we need to tell the rest of the team con, Cal and Robyn heard us being called Mum and Dad, so it's bound to be around the hospital now. We need to clear things up with everyone" Jacob said.
Connie nodded, "let's do it then, we can introduce both of our children at the same time" she smiled as Charlie passed Tali back to her.
They walked out to the nurses station then Jacob began shouting for everyone's attention, but it didn't seem to be working.
"Cover Tali's ears" Mason said to Connie.
She raised an eyebrow but did it anyway, as Mason put two fingers in his mouth and let out an extremely loud whistle getting everyone's attention.
"Excuse me, this is a hospital, you can't go around making noise like that!" Zoe snapped.

"I allowed it. Now everyone gather round and listen!" Connie said.
The staff did just that, looking over and trying to get the best view that they could of Tali.
"So as you all know, Jacob and I welcomed our baby girl, Tali. And whilst we hope she won't be our last child, we are very certain she wasn't our first. Seventeen years ago I gave birth to a baby boy, Mason. It's a very complicated story and I really don't want to go into detail, but this is Mason, this is our son" Connie told them all.
Everyone looked at her in shock, but didn't have time to say anything as she began talking again.
"He will be working here as a HCA. That does not mean you can take any opportunity to find out information about my private life, I'm still your boss. And this goes for all of you, but especially you Dr Knight, he is seventeen so no taking him out getting him ridiculously drunk, one drink wouldn't hurt but nothing stupid, and no hooking him up with girls!" She said.

"Mum" Mason groaned in embarrassment causing Jacob to laugh.
"To be honest con, he's got the masters gene, don't think he needs any help with girls" Jacob said.
"Shut up" Connie glared.
"Yes boss" he smirked before patting her bum.
She rolled her eyes and scoughed, "I'm so glad Tali's a girl, I don't know how I'm going to cope with you two" she muttered.
"You love us really mum" Mason said.
"Hmm" Connie mumbled.
