Chapter Sixteen

R O G A N

I came back from another hunt, I caught a deer and proceed to cut the meat and putting them inside the freezer. I am worried about Landon, he's not eating on his own and now he's starting to sleep on the floor. After storing the meat I cooked some lunch for Landon, I am happy he eats what I give him.

"Baby, wake up its time to ear" I said as I gently brush my fingers through his hair. I sat on the edge of our bed with his plate of food.

"I'm not hungry" he mumbled.

"You need to eat, its not healthy to stop eating and you're pregnant. I made you a chicken caesar wrap" I replied. He rose slowly sitting up and grab the plate.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't want you to be worried about me. I'll get more I promise" said Landon. I sighed.

"When the rogues killed my pack I blamed myself. I would always think I didn't diserve happiness and love. It's true what Quinton says, I am a coward. Years of living as an rogue, I get treated badly, Asher and Roland helped me as well. It took me a while to realise that none of this is my fault. I've done my best to protect my people and I hope they knew that" I said

"I-I don't know if I can overcome this, I-I blamed myself for so long and people keep dying around me" he responded.

"You can baby, it's up to you to make that decision. I know it won't happen over night and it will take some time but it is possible. It is not your fault baby, other omega's needs to know it wasn't their fault either" I replied

"But the nightmares keep coming, death over death" he whimpers

"It comes because you still believe it. Mary would never regret saving you and Dylan. Before we met so had lots of miscarrages, she knew what would happen. The moon will give her a pup soon so no need to be upset. Mary in your dream isn't her, they're fooling you. Same applies with Winter and your parents and other wolves" I said

"Everyone is in peace now, grant them their peace" I said. After eating his lunch he cried himself to sleep. I hope what I said is helpful.

I finish building a memorial stone to those that lost their lives a month ago. Calling Roland to give me names of wolves that didn't survive along with omega's they know of. I carved Winters name on the stone and lit the candles.

"I woke up alone" said Landon. I turned seeing him hold a blanket over his shoulder. I smiled and went to kiss his cheek.

"You came just in time" I said.

"W-What is this?" He asked.

"A memorial stone, in memory of those who lost their lives. This is where they can finally be in peace" I replied. He walked over staring at the stone, his fingers traced over Winter's name.

"T-Thank you" he sobbed. I held him in my arms letting him cry. He begged for forgiveness and apologise numerous times. I helped him pick flowers and place them around the stone.

"Be in peace everyone" he whispered then walked away with me following behind.
