He stares at me and I cross my arms.

"You really have to be like this Gen."

"You really have to be like this." I say mocking him.

"That mouth of yours is going to get you in trouble one day."

"And when that day comes I still won't care."

"Right the only thing you care about is academics no wonder you have no friends."

"No friends?," I laughed. "Who were the people I hung out with Friday night."

He steps towards me so that I am face to face with him.

"I'm not afraid to hurt you, you know."

"You can't hit a girl." I spat

"No but I can emotionally hurt you I can make school I living hell for you."

"Can't wait." I say giving him a toothy smile.

*

I walk into school and get greeted by Alice.

"Hey I heard about you and Hayes."

"What how."

"I heard in the bathroom that you walked and Jack walked in on Hayes and Gretchen kissing at the store."

"Ok and so what about it."

"Why did you care enough to stop it?"

I had to think about what I was going to say.

"I really don't know at this point I don't care what he does he isn't my problem."

The bell rings and I head of to class.

*

Someone behind me yanked on my hair.

"Ouch, watch it will ya." I jerk my head to the side eyeing the person.

"I dropped my pencil." Said Hayes

"Ok so how is this my problem." I said with attitude.

He rolled his eyes "Your stupid foot is on top of it."

I grumble "Fine,"

I picked up his pencil broke the led tip and have it back to him. "There you go."

He fake coughs "Bitch."

He stands up to sharpen his pencil and I put my foot out and he trips on it. "Oops looks like my stupid foot is in your way."

"Ha ha your so clever."

The class ends and I make my way towards the lunch room. It was spaghetti day at the school.

I sit down at guys table on the opposite side of the table as Hayes.

"What's up with you and Hayes." Asked Jack.

I looked up at Hayes and he was already looking at me to.

"What are you talking about." I say picking at my food.

"Genevieve." Said Jack

"I can answer for her," Spoke Hayes. "She thinks she can fix me and help me and everything will be perfect in her perfect world and she can love her life, but news flash alert your not in England your in South Carolina where no one cares about new people,"

I grit my teeth. "Did I get it right doll face."

Hayes starts to laugh a little and gets up and leaves. He goes up to a girl whispers in her ear and they walk off together.

I stab my fork into my pasta. "Is he always like this."

"Yeah somedays are better than most, most people get use to it others don't."

I get up from the lunch table and I go to throw my lunch away.

Something hits the back of my head I pull it off and it's spaghetti I turn around and it's the jock that I saw at the ice cream place.

I go towards him "What do you want." I snapped at him

"You don't have to be rude pasty." He said smirking.

"You threw food at me how do you expect me to feel."

"You're a feisty one. He said grabbing my butt

I grab my milk and I dump it over his head and I shove his hands off of me. "Got milk?" I said and walked straight out of the cafeteria to my locker. I check my phone to see what time is it then I go to the restroom to fix my hair.

Hayes and the girl he was with comes out of the stall and they both look at me. The girl he was with laughs.

"I don't think you can fix that."

"I can fix my hair but I don't think you can fix that your a hoe." I say still fixing my hair.

"Hayes are you really gonna let her talk to me like this." She whines to him.

"Hayes shouldn't even be here it's a ladies room not a unisex."

He walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist.

"C'mon Gen you know won't tell."

"You don't know what I can do." He unhooks his arms from me.

"What happen to the nice new girl that I met."

"What happen to the guy that didn't use to be so stuck up."

"Shit happens." He says walking back to the girl.

"And to answer your question, shit happens." I walk out and go back to the cafeteria.

If this is how school is going to be everyday I better toughen up.
