"This way ." My dad spoke lowly tugging my arm
I took in my surroundings starting from the hardwood glossy floors to the high ceiling
"I think he's still in his office.." he trailed off pointing to a door with translucent glass that read "shons room"
I nodded my head
"If we're quiet enough we can sneak out the back door."
I rubbed my stomach in small circles feeling sharp pains
I groaned in agony and he looked back at me with a concerned look
"Sweetie are you okay ?" He whispered
I shook my head no and he sighed
"Stay here I'll go get you something to ease the pain ."
And with that he walked away
It was hard acknowledging him as "dad" again but I was getting a bit more comfy with it
I sat on a nearby love seat and blew out a sharp breath
My feet were aching and the pains started to feel worse
As the room grew quiet I could hear shon speaking
"Yes . Of course ." I heard him say
"As soon as the baby is out I'm putting it up for adoption and selling Karin."
Selling me ?
What does he mean "selling me" ?
My dad walked back into the room and handed me a glass of water along with an Advil
"Its not much but it's all I could find in his medicine cabinet ."
I nodded and swallowed the pill
"We gotta keep moving ."
I nodded my head and he grabbed my hand to help me off the sofa
Just as I stood it began to thunder
It was rare for it to rain in San Diego
We walked out of the room with him leading the way
The weather outside kept me on my toes from its repetitive drops of rain smashing into the window
"Okay..the back door is right there-
"Where the hell do you think you going ?" Shons voice boomed through the house
Fear invaded my heart causing my breathing to speed up
"Come on daddy think of something." I mentally stated
"S-she had to use the bathroom and the can you left down there is full."
