Question of chapter: When are ya'lls birthday?

The sun was setting by the time that Garrett started to move and wake up. Yellows, pinks, and dark blues danced with one another, following the setting sun.

My whole body was relaxed while I watched the setting sun, smelling the cooking of food and having it wake up my stomach. I knew that I probably wouldn't be able to help cook tonight, but I'll see if I couldn't just wash the dishes afterwards.

I didn't care that I was still having to face my punishment from two years ago. I loved cooking food and would cook for my grandmother as well as the whole pack some days.

A groan sounded from behind me, causing me to open my eyes and turn a bit. The silver wolf started to move and get his legs underneath him. He opened his eyes and looked around, his hackles raised before calming down when he saw that I was alone.

I bit back a laugh when he nudged me and smelt to make sure that I wasn't hurt. I rubbed his neck when he saw the bandage on my leg and whined in guilt. "It's all right, Corbin," I said, saying Garrett's Wolf name. "Shift, we need to talk and see what happened."

Garrett, or Corbin, grunted in annoyance before taking the shorts that were laid next to me. He moved behind me and shifted, not really caring that anyone would be able to see his package before moving towards my side. He huffed and laid his head on my shoulder, taking in my scent.

"I am fine, Corby," I said, moving him hand through his blonde hair. "Robbie wouldn't have hurt me."

"I don't like this pack," he all but growled. "I want to take you away from here and from that Mutt."

I sighed but nodded, knowing what he meant. "I can't leave though, you know that." I looked at the sky and sighed again. "We have to help them out with whomever is trying to attack and kill this pack. They need help fighting, so why not have me teach them?"

"Because they disrespect you," he replied, bluntly. "What will you do if they try to kill you?"

"Make them unconscious," I replied, shrugging my shoulder. "And, if they gang up on me, I will make sure that they know that I am not someone to mess with." An evil smirk appeared on my face, and if I had a tail, it would be flicking back and forth in anticipation. "They're going to have some fun training sessions."

Corbin chuckled. He pulled me into a hug, and I could feel him relaxing against me. "We'll be beside you no matter what," he promised. "We'll help with anything."

I hugged him back and squeezed him, just not as tightly. My throat clogged up with emotion, causing me to clear my throat. "Thank you," I whispered. "I know that you will be there for me, as I will be there for you."

He didn't say a word but just held me tightly. I knew that he didn't think me of as a mate but a sister, and I understood that. I knew that people will think we were in a relationship, but we will never be in one. Whomever his mate will be will be a lucky female to have a male like this.

I felt a shift in Garrett's behavior and knew that he was back in control when his hand started to get lower towards my butt. A scoff escaped my lips while I got out of his grasp and grabbed both of his hands behind his back. I dug my knee into his back as well and pulled on his arms, causing him to groan.

"For fuck's sake, I am a male! It's not my fault that I am a guy," Garrett complained, causing me to roll my eyes.

"And this comes from a guy who hates males walking up to me even if it is about a question on the homework." I smirked. "Are you sure that you aren't my second chance?"

Garrett scoffed, and I could tell that he rolled his eyes. "Sorry, babe, but I am a guy that likes to hook up with girls and then dump them. I am not a one man type of guy. Besides, you are not my type."

I gasped out in mockery and let him up. I placed my hand across my heart and fluttered my eyelids. "My word, Garrett," I said. "That is just..." An evil smirk appeared on my face, causing the male that had turned around to look a bit frightened. "Run."

Garrett didn't need to be told twice and turned towards the house. He booked it, trying to leave me in the dust.

I couldn't help but laugh as I started to chase him. My stomach growled, and I knew that we would be going to get something to eat. Even with his weird and sometimes inappropriate jokes, I couldn't help but be grateful to have Garrett as my friend and confidant.

Answer to question of chapter: My birthday is Sept 10. The reason as to why I had asked about your birthdays is because I do dedications for people whose day is their birthday. I will not dedication a chapter to me for my birthday (but I will do it for the covers that I had made).
