Dan woke up embraced in Phil's arms. His first instinct was to cuddle, but he soon after realized what he was actually doing. He jumped up, breaking the grip between the two. Phil rolled over still asleep, while Dan leaned against the wall of the plane.
"You're fine Dan, just breath. It was only an unconscious mistake, it's not like either of us purposely did it. Just breathe, we both know you don't like guys." He mumbles to his self as he takes deep breathes trying to relax. He shuts his eyes leaning his head against the cold window trying to slow down the fast pace of his heart rate. He didn't want to lead Phil on, after all they already had the discussion a while ago when Phil told Dan he was gay. Dan made sure to imply that he didn't like guys that way, he just didn't want to give Phil the wrong idea.
"You alright Dan?" Phil asks suddenly awoken from his sleep by Dan's frantic behavior.
"I'm fine, just a bad dream. I'm trying to relax." He fibs trying hard not to be obvious of the matter.
"Do you need anything? I can ask if you do." Dan just shakes his head in response and buries his face into his knees.
'You're fine, stop making such a big deal out of nothing.' He mentally tells himself. Phil disappears, heading off to use the restroom. Dan takes the opportunity to fully calm hisself down. He asks for a glass of water and is soon brought back his request.
Phil returns, he smiles and pats Dan's knee reassuringly.
"You'll be alright, it was only a dream." He orders breakfast, asking Dan if he wanted anything, but Dan quickly denied the offer saying he wasn't all that hungry. He just continued sipping his water and staring out the window. Only a few more hours until they land in Japan.
Neither of them planned out what they'd be doing when they got there so basically the entire trip is just going to be winged.
After a good half an hour of water sipping and window gazing, Dan finally breaks away.
"Only another hour and a half to go before we get off the cramped plane." Phil rambles on. He'd been talking the whole time but Dan tuned him out.  It's just something he tended to do. Phil knew he did it too, but kept talking anyways for the sake of keeping things from getting to quiet or awkward.
"What are we going to do? I was thinking we could walk around, visit a couple shops. I'm not really sure what there's going to be there." Phil turns and looks at Dan who is now leaned against the plane wall staring at him.
"That sounds nice. Shopping does sound like fun, especially since we don't really know what's there to do. It can pass the time and give us a chance to look around. We can go tomorrow if you're alright with that." Dan sets his drink on his lap.
Phil nods in response, leaning his head back on his seat.

A hour passes slowly but surely and the two are about to arrive at the airport. Dan stretches in his seat while Phil types away at his phone, tweeting about how close they are.  Dan couldn't wait to get to the hotel where he could relax and not be cramped. Tumblr scrolling,  movie watching, and much rest is what he was looking forward to. Phil on the other hand was most excited to sleep and then start a fresh day tomorrow traveling through the many different stores.
When they finally land. The two hurry to collect their things and leave the airport. They still have the hotel to check into and were occasionally stopped for a picture or two with some fans. Both extremely exhausted, even though they rested most of the way there.
They pile their stuff into the hotel, collecting their key cards from the front desk and making their way to their rooms, which were across from each other. Dan quickly put his stuff into his room before heading to Phil's to exchange spare keycards and to hang out for a bit. Within a matter of twenty minutes Phil was asleep and Dan was left staring at the ceiling of Phil's hotel room. He looks to the sleeping boy next to him and butterflies collect in his stomach. A feeling he only felt when he was with Phil. He never really noticed or cared that much, but tonight it was different. Tonight he knew why. He sat up from Phil's bed making his way to the door. He turned off the lights, making his way to his room where he sat in a corner on the floor. He was falling in love with his best friend, but he'd never admit it because he's not gay. He can't be.
