Stacey's POV

The past three weeks have been really fun. Eric and I hang out a lot.
Three days ago.. We went scuba diving.
Then day after,  ice skating.
Last night we stayed at my place and watched the Conjuring 2. I held unto Eric throughout the entire movie because I was so scared.
Today, we're taking long walks on the beach. I really like hanging out with Eric. There's always a flow of conversation. I think I like him.. I know  I swore off men and all, but he's.. different. I can feel it. He's been the perfect gentleman the entire time. He hasn't even tried to kiss me.

I wish he would.

We arrived at the beach just in time to witness the sunset.
The sun drowned in the horizon, it's rays of light glimmering in the darkness of the clouds faded and the pale moon peeked at us from the stars.

"I really want to go to space." I said, looking up at the sky.
"So do I."
"You're rich Eric. You could go whenever you're ready."
He chuckled. "It's not that easy, Stacey."

The clouds held promises of a calm peaceful night as it spread far across the sky.

"Stacey.."
"Mm?"
"Would you like to work in my company?"
"Nope."
"Why not? I've seen your CV.. You'd be a valuable asset to my company and you know it."
I sighed. "Eric, we've been through this. That's not what I want to do. I want to be an interior decorator. How will working for you get me there?"
"I know Stacey... At least left me link you up with one of my contacts."
I shook my head. "No! I want to earn my way to the top."
"Stacey please. I want to help you. It's the least I could do since I.."
"Since you what?"
".. I... called... you.. a stupid girl."
I laughed. "I also called you a miserable uptight douchebag but you don't see me feeling bad about it."
"Because it's the truth."
"No it's not Eric. You're an amazing person. You really are. I'm glad to have you in my life."
"Stop." He growled.
"Stop what?"
"Stop saying those things."
"You don't like hearing the truth?"
"Stacey.. I.."
"I know."
Eric's eyes widened as he looked at me. "Y-you...k-k-know..?"
I giggled.  "Yes I know. I'm one of a kind. You don't have to tell me twice."
He looked relieved. "Oh.."
"Wasn't that what you wanted to say?"
"It was."

I smiled.

"If you found out I had done something really horrible in the past... Would you forgive me?"
"Like... Kill someone?"
"What? No! Like..hurt someone.."
"Did you mean to?"
"No.."
"Then yes, I would forgive you. Besides its past."
"So you've forgiven the man who raped-"
"NO! Never ! Can we just change the subject?" I snapped.

Silence.

"Maybe it's time we leave."
"But we haven't been here for long." I said softly.
"I know.. I have work tomorrow."
"So do I.."
"Stacey, I just remembered I have an important meeting tomorrow." He said before heading to his car.
"Okay.."

For the first time ever, Eric and I had nothing to say to each throughout the ride back to my place.

"Thanks for tonight. I had a nice time." I said as Eric pulled up at my place.
"Me too."
"Goodnight, Eric."

Normally, he would walk me to my door or make sure I'm safely inside before driving away. But today he just... Drove off.

He didn't even wish me a goodnight.
