It was totally and completely illogical to be nervous about going to the grocery store, and yet she was.

Piper clenched her fists at her sides, mentally berating herself.

"Ready?" said Fear, coming to her side of the car and standing next to her, patiently.

"Look," she said. "I'm sorry...I don't know how to explain it...and I can't seem to stop it...I don't know why I'm so nervous for something so simple..." She faked a laugh, as she would if she were trying to make her parents or her few friends think she wasn't actually as crazy as she was.

"You don't have to explain it," said her companion, gently. "Because I already know. And I don't think you're strange, or abnormal, or crazy. So you don't have to worry about how it sounds, at least not to me. And whenever you're ready, we'll go in. Take your time. I have an infinite amount of minutes, remember?"

She laughed uneasily. "Right. The benefits of having a mind reader, who time doesn't apply to, as a friend."

He shrugged, but smiled slightly.

"Ok," she said, taking a deep breath, and directing her gaze to the store entrance. "I'm ready."

"Alright. Then in we go."
