New Beginnings

The truth is revealed

Missy and Paige were in the guest room while Paige took a little nap. Zay had just arrived to hang out with Maya and Lucas they all sat on the couch eating snacks, while Lucas put his hand on Maya's stomach. They were talking about work and the baby, how soon the baby will be here. "Zay do you ever want kids?" Maya asked as Zay nodded his head. "Yeah I definitely could see myself being a dad in the future. I want a big family when I'm ready." "So if you found out you were a father today, you wouldn't be ready?" Lucas asked avoiding eye contact with him. "Maybe, I'd probably would. I don't know. What are you two trying to get at? These questions are a little weird." Zay was a little uncomfortable. Maya stood up and Lucas did too. "We'll be right back." Maya and Lucas walked back to the room where Missy was and told her what Zay said. She took a deep breath. She was so nervous but she had to do it.

Missy slowly made her way to the livingroom leaving Paige with Maya and Lucas. Missy walked in and Zay's face dropped. "Oh my god." he whispered. "Uh hi.." she said softly as Zay rushed over to hug her. He hugged her tightly and she reciprocated hugging back just as tight. "What are you doing here? How did you not get murdered by Maya?" Zay was astonished by Missy being here as they sat on the couch together. "Well she is helping me with something, well Lucas talked her into it." She was twirling a piece of her hair nervously. "Why didn't you eber come back that summer? I waited for you." He said softly looking at her. "I was scared, I really fell for you that night and it was terrifying. But I was scared of how you would react." "React to what? You talked to me everyday until the end of the summer, then just never talked to me again." Missy took his hands into hers. "I found out I was pregnant.. I couldn't come back and ruin your life. You were about to start college with your friends and your friends hated me that would've been too much to handle." Missy's eyes began to water. "I'm so sorry for never coming back or telling you." Zay could barely come up with words to say. "You...pregnant..what." A tear fell down from Missy's cheek. "I wasn't even that great of a mom at first I was really distant towards her. So you can be as involved or uninvolved as you want. But you do have a right to know, I couldn't keep this from you." Zay was still too shocked until he heard the word her. "Her? You had a little girl?" He whispered and Missy just nodded her head as she started to cry. Zay pulled her close to hug her and just held her. "I'm so sorry." She just kept whispering. "I understand,  I really do. But I wish you didn't hide it from me. I missed so much of her life. I would have been there for you and her, I wish I had the chance to. But I'll be involved, that's my little girl too." He said as he rubbed her back trying to calm her down but the tears just kept coming. She finally composed herself a little so she could talk. "Her name is Paige, Paige Alexandria Babineaux. Even though you weren't there I still gave her your last name. She looks so much like you and is the sassiest little girl ever." Missy laughed a little and Zay wiped away more of her tears and smiled. "I can't wait to meet her." "She's in Maya and Lucas' guest room taking a nap. I brought her so you could meet her if you wanted to." Zay just smiled and grabbed Missys hand and walked to the guest room. He slowly opened the door up to see Maya and Lucas playing with the small little girl. He was in awe at how much she looked like him. Being a dad to this little princess was going to be great.
