Who's to judge? (Nick x judy fanfic)

What have you gotten yourself into...

"Savage.. Jack savage" the White rabbit said, reaching his paw out for nicks

"It's Nice to meet you jack" nick says, pleasingly shaking his paw

"I see Bogo lent you the correct coordinates on where to find me"

The two were sitting down at a restaurant drinking smoothies together. Jack had ordered a carrot one and nick a blue berry one. There were a lot of animals in the restaurant so it wasn't so easy to spot the two.

"So wanna tell me what the missions about? And why I'm kind of chosen for it?" Nick asked

"You see when I fought you not long ago, I noticed that you have some unnatural reaction speeds, as in perception abilities, The mission you and I will be going on requires that" jack said, taking glances around every now and then

"I see and the mission is?"

"We will be infiltrating an organisation known as 'robin hoods' ever heard of them?" Jack asked

"Yup, I've actually negotiated with em a couple times back in my old hustling days" nick said placing his arms behind his head laying backwards

"Good good, the aim of the mission is too shut down the entire organisation entirely by arresting its leader robin. He's a fox obviously but the tricky bit is that he has never ever been caught or even seen" jack was into the convo deeply now, concentrated on the topic he stared at nick with concern

"I see, so first job is to get in the gang, increase our rank once were in it, and once we get to the boss we Arrest him and shut down the whole gang? Sounds pretty intimidating" nick said

"Well it is and it certainly isn't going to be easy we start two weeks from now. Two weeks is our total prep time for the mission. We're expected to be finished in at least a year so you won't be taking any cases"

"I understand" nick said who now began nervously fiddling with his thumbs staring downwards

"Best if I take my leave then, I'll notify you when our next meeting is" jack said before grabbing his coat

"Yeah.. Bye"

**later on**

The afternoon was setting. The sun hanging from the sky, slowly slipping into the horizon. Nick hadn't seen Judy all day, as he was scheduled for patrol immediately after his meeting with jack savage. The time was 5:40pm so nick was due to return back to the ZPD. He was looking forward to seeing Judy. He got into his small police vehicle and headed back.

"WILDE!" Were the first words he heard as soon as he opened the doors to the ZPD. He could see Bogo standing at the accountant desk were clawhauser was and signalled nick to come.

"I want to speak with you" he said and with that the two trotted off to bogos office.

"Wilde I believe you've acquainted yourself with most of the officers at the ZPD?" Bogo said

"Well yeah I guess.. But like only a few"nick replied sheepishly scratching the fur behind his neck

"I'd like you to meet officer fangmeyer, he too will be accompanying you on your mission with detective savage" Bogo said whilst tapping his desk. A large handsome tiger walked into the room he had a rather laid back expression.

"Hello nick, I've heard a lot about you" he said. Nick stared at the tiger and recognised the name "fangmeyer" Judy had told nick about him and how nice he was

"I've heard about you too, Judy tells me you're quite a gentleman" nick replied. Bogos mood heightened at how the two were getting along so nicely

"Ok enough chit chat" Bogo said silencing the pair "so you both have been informed about what you will be doing. Nick do not bring officer hopps into this negotiation. You may inform her of what you're doing but you're not to mention the persons involved got it?"

"Affirmative sir"

The two left the room with fangmeyer in the lead. Then all of a sudden nick was unexpectedly attacked by two small paws that latched tightly around his neck.

"Nick!" Judy squealed

"Carrots! You gave me a fright!" Nick said a slight increase in his breathing

"Clawhauser told me you got in but had to go straight to buffalo butts office so I thought I could surprise you" Judy said

"Hehe well you certainly did" nick said as he rubbed the top of her head "sly bunny"

"So wanna tell me what the chief was talking to you and fangmeyer about" Judy replied

"Oh yeah about that... He just wants me to go on a case... By myself"

"Oh... What sort of case..." Judy said whilst trailing her eyes towards the floor

"Uh just a small one.."

"Nick"

"It is really" nick grasped the back of his fur behind his neck and began scratching at it "it may take me a few days. So I might be gone after two weeks on the case.. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone though"

And with that Judys ears dropped "can you tell me what the case is about" Judy said placing his paw in hers

"I- I'm not allowed Judy.." Nick said whilst grasping her paw tightly

"But we still have two weeks together before I start so let's not waste it yeah" nick said giving Judy a reassuring smile
The two walked out of the ZPD, holding each other's paw. Judy wasn't sure she was comfortable with him leaving and nick wasn't so sure if he wanted to go but it was his job.
