Patrick's possessor was standing in the center of the woods, in too deep for anyone to notice his presence. He was staring at the watch on his wrist, watching as the second hand made its painstakingly slow rotation around the small dial. He glanced up and sighed, becoming impatient with Halsey.
"I'll give her thirty more seconds," He mumbled to himself, slipping his hands into his pockets and rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, "If she doesn't come with the sacrifices in thirty more seconds-"
Just then, to interrupt him, Halsey appeared out of thin air and dropped a witch and wizard - both deceased - in front of her father, crossing her arms over her chest defiantly and nodding her head. "There, I got your two sacrifices." The possessed vampire tilted his head down, recognizing the two sorcerers to be Hayley Williams and Taylor York, who were also two of Patrick and Rachael's friends. A slight pang of remorse hit the demon and he was reluctant to complete his task. "Do what you need to do and then I'll do the spell. Okay?"
The shell of a man seemed to be frozen in place, the vampire inside refusing to continue and the demon struggling to maintain his dominance.
"What are you waiting for?" The hybrid snapped, growing irritated.
He shook his head and met the girl's gaze. "Nothing."
"Then do it!"

The bartender slammed two cups down in front of Pete and Jack. The vampire could feel that he wasn't welcome at the bar, considering it was run by wolves. He was only there because Jack insisted that the two go out for drinks at Finn McCool's Irish pub earlier on in the day.
Pete was still at a loss for why the lycan insisted on being friends with him. He wasn't liked by the wolves and witches, and some people of his own kind, so why did this wolf want to be his friend? He didn't know it was because Jack was lonely, even with his six friends and caring twin.
Everyone was so caught up in this war, in their lives, that Jack felt left out. He needed someone outside of his usual social group, so he decided to open up to the vampire, knowing that he was trapped all alone in that house, despite the two witches temporarily staying in his home. But the lycan was quickly realizing his attempts to spend time with his acquaintance weren't going well. Jack could tell that all the wolves in the bar didn't appreciate Pete's presence and Pete didn't appreciate the glares he was receiving. He reached in his pocket to grab his wallet and pulled out enough money to pay the barkeep, giving him a generous tip.
Pete glanced up to see the bartender glaring at him while he was taking a sip from his beer and asked, "Is there a problem?"
"Yeah," The man muttered, "You."
Jack heaved a sigh while rolling his eyes and stepping in to intervene. "Let's just calm down, now. We're all friends here, right?"
The bartender scoffed and snatched the money off of the counter. "Not a chance, kid. His kind isn't welcome here. You should know that, but then again, you never really understood what it means to prefer your own kind, mutt."
"What's that supposed to mean?" The wolf questioned while narrowing his eyes.
"Hey," Pete snapped, throwing his finger in the bartender's face, "The only mutt here is you, so I recommend you keep your mouth shut." Jack looked over at the vampire, surprised by the defensiveness he showed for him.
The wolf behind the bar slammed his hands down, growling. "Look, Pete, I know you and your friends are the ones behind everything that's happened so far, and it's taking me everything not to kill you right here and now. So what I recommend is that you stop being an asshole, finish your fucking drink, and walk yourself out, before I have to drag you out." And with that, he stormed off, retreating to the other end of the bar and waiting on someone else.
The vampire rolled his eyes and glared over at Jack. "And we couldn't have gone anywhere else," He lambasted the lycan, not even bothering to finish his drink and pushing the stool he was sitting on out, hopping down from it and leaving the place.
Jack heaved a sigh and followed him outside. "Peter, I'm sorry," He apologized.
"You know what, Jack? I don't care!" Pete shouted back, continuing to walk down the street, "I don't care about you, or the werewolves, or anyone in this fucking town! I'm done with it all and all of its bullshit! I wish your sister never woke up and I wish I didn't vote against Patrick when he said he didn't want to come back here because he was right. Coming back here was a mistake and nothing good has come out of it. For fuck's sake, I just want my old friend back, I want my old life back!"
The lycan slowed down in his tracks, absorbing Pete's words. "Wait, hold up, did you just say you wish my sister never woke up?"
"Yes!" He exclaimed, stopping in his tracks and spinning around, "In fact, I wish she died. I know you haven't known her as long as I have, but she's not good, Jack. She's a fucking monster! She forced my best friend's daughter into a life of crime and violence, and she forced us into a life of suppression. She's nearly killed her so-called best friend twice and she's done nothing but cause trouble for the five of us and that fucking wizard who won't leave us alone. Your sister and I don't like each other and we never will. The only people who like her are the ones who she's brainwashed - like you, and Bruno, and everyone in that goddamn pack she has bowing down to her."
Before Jack could find the words to respond to Pete, his phone began to vibrate in his pocket. While keeping his eyes locked on the vampire, he stuck his hand into his jacket and fished around the ringing device.
"Inside left pocket, dumb ass," Pete grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest and averting his gaze to the side. Jack finally discovered the mobile phone and quickly thanked him. He extracted the device and saw Bruno's name, rolling his eyes before answering it.
"What do you want?" He greeted coldly, still not happy with his sister's mate.
"You need to come back to the pack house, now."
"I'm busy," The lycan snapped.
"I don't care if you're busy or not. Get your ass down here." Without saying another word, the call was cut, the line going out. Bruno had hung up on him.
Pete heard the entire conversation and knew he wasn't wanted there so he took this as his cue to leave. As he turned around, Jack reached out and grabbed him by the arm. "I know this won't change anything, but I'm sorry." Jack knew that the vampire had gone through enough, and that his sister wasn't the glorified being she appeared to be. "My sister has done a lot of bad things, but she's changed, and I'm sure she regrets hurting you and your friends."
"Then you obviously don't know your sister." Pete tore his arm out of the lycan's hold.
"Considering I just found her a year ago after thousands of years of separation, no, I don't." Jack chuckled. "But I know people like her have regrets and guilt." He moved closer to finish his apology. "One day, she'll come around and realize that she was wrong, and she'll try to make it up to you."
The vampire laughed. "You're cute, Jack, but too much has been done to be made up for." With that, he sped off, disappearing into the darkness of the night and leaving Jack all alone in the center of the street.
