Kenya marched up to Rachael and Brendon's new apartment in the center of downtown New Orleans. The she wolf was prepared to knock on the couple's front door but didn't know if she should due to the fact that she didn't know the girl. But then again, she felt as if she did.

That had been the secret she'd kept to herself. The moment she noticed Rachael, she felt the need to trust her and protect her. But in her fight, she never met anyone who was willing to stand up to her except her father. She never met anyone she was concerned for.

Yes, she held concern for her pack, her mate, and her brother, but Rachael had been the only thing on her mind since their fight. Kenya couldn't help but be scared after hurting the witch. She was sure that Rachael was dead, and then she showed up again to take Patrick to the hospital.

Kenya went to turn around and leave, not ready to understand, but she had to know. Every night she had flashes, dreams, nightmares of scenes she couldn't remember, Halsey's words sticking with her. How could Kenya remember Brendon and the hybrid, but not Rachael and her posse of vampires? Something wasn't adding up.

The she wolf jingled the keys in her leather jacket, deciding that she was going to talk to the witch. She knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. But, while waiting, the wolf got cold feet and went to turn and run, but before she could get anywhere, the door clicked opened.

"Kenya?"

"Hey..." The wolf nervously stated, spinning around to face the witch who was standing in the middle of threshold. "You want a drink?" She asked while hugging herself, "I really need one and I have no one else to go with. So do you want to come with me?"

This was the first time Rachael had ever witnessed Kenya anxious or word vomiting. She was usually so composed and confident, it was obvious something was bothering her. "You know, a drink sounds good right now," She agreed, "I'll just go tell Brendon I'm going out and then I'll be ready, okay?" The witch asked.

Kenya didn't understand her willingness to say yes. She didn't even bother arguing, as if going out for drinks with a stranger was normal. However, she was only a stranger to Kenya. Rachael seemed to know who the lycan was just fine.

"I'll wait for you outside," She said while turning and walking away. A few moments later, Rachael emerged from the apartment - fixing a jacket over her shoulders - and joined Kenya's side. "I know a place not too far from here," The lycan stated while beginning to walk down the street brushing by the townspeople swarming the streets on the cool night.

"Oh yeah, there's a ton of great places around here. The hard part is choosing which one to go to." Rachael chuckled nervously and ran a hand through her hair. "Maybe we could go to the one Patrick and I used to go to. That one's pretty diverse in their audience, attracting everyone. Humans, werewolves, vampires, witches...you name it."

"Whatever you want," Kenya conceded while holding her head down and allowing the witch to take the lead.

"Oh, man, really? Because I was hoping you'd make that decision. It is your turn, after all." Rachael nudged her friend in the arm and smirked.

Kenya looked down at the area where she was touched and then looked up at the witch with confusion. She had no idea or any recollection of them ever going out as friends.

Rachael realized this and retracted her arm to her side. "You probably don't remember, but we had this thing where we were both so indecisive that we decided to start taking turns on who picked whatever we had to pick."

"Right." Kenya gave a weak smile and kept walking, noticing the city around her. People were smiling. Musicians were lining up and playing trumpets, stringed instruments, and creating the atmosphere for the city she loved. "We'll go to the bar you suggested." She trusted Rachael's suggestion.
