White folds revealed the pale hands
of a nurse. Warm light played with
the features on her face, casting small
shadows on her right side.

"When will I be able to leave the hospital?"
"Soon."

She gave me a short reply
and an intriguing smile.

"Am I really sick?"
"Hmm, no. Not really. But we need to keep you
under observation for a couple of days. Don't worry;
it will all be okay."

The old lady busied herself
with the curtains at the window.

"Can I have a little more light,
please?"

"Of course."

I turned my head away. On the nightstand
by my bed, a bouquet of fresh white lilies
rested in silence.

"Who brought these?"

"Oh... I actually
                          have no idea."
