Chapter 24: why i left

Y/n point of view

I stayed in the chair on the corner mining my own business. I tried being quiet on my way to the chair but I didn't really think it mattered because they couldn't see me.

As I was sitting, I dropped a pencil that was on the edge of the desk. As it fell, the two looked over at me. My heart was soon beating really fast but then they soon shrugged then continued what they were doing.....

I stand corrected....😑

Anyway as I was sitting, I watch a new lost memory, a memory that I forgotten about.... a memory that my father took away...

Young me was crying on ban as ban was hugging her and rubbing her back with comfort, this caused a smile to be drawn on my face.

"Shhhhh..... calm down kid! YOU Gotta stop crying! He told me to take u far away from him and your father to keep you safe..." he said as he stroked the girl's hair. "Plus....... if something were to happen to you or if he knew I let u go out and find him, he'd kill me in a heartbeat....." this caused both me and young me to chuckle. We were cut from our laughter when a voice was heard from the door opening.

".....well I wouldn't say in a heartbeat, I'd probably make u suffer first." Said Meliodas as he was standing in the door way smirking and winking at the two, on the bed. Young me jumped from ban's arms and ran straight into Meliodas's arms and started crying even more. "MEL-MEL!!!!!!!!! Oh how much I missed u! I thought something happened to you, that you died, and left me here! Scared! And alone with him!!!!" Young me said pointing at Ban.

Meliodas immediately started laughing as Ban stood up in shock. "HEY! I'm not that bad! I tried calming the girl down! You know what? I'm not going to argue about this and with a child.... I'm going down for a beer...." ban said as he started walking out of the door. He then soon stop right behind meliodas and whispered something in his ear. Then walked off. At that moment, Meliodas's face showed no emotion. Whatever ban said, affected meliodas which to cause a little akward silence. I couldn't really make out of what he said but i think i heard him tell Mel that he would give young me and him alone time. For what? Is something about to happen? But i was soon cut from my thoughts when i seen meliodas smile. He then looked at young me and started to speak. "How are you? Are you OK? How are you doing?" Young me then smiled as she whipped away her tears. "Oh! I'm fine! I just missed you and mommy so much. And i'm really mad at daddy..... I'm kind of scared........ I don't wanna go back with him........can i stay with you! And...and the seven deadly sins! You could raise me! And, and, and i'll grow up with you! And um well live happily ever after! Just like in a story book!" younge me said as she raised her hands in the air making dramatic movements as she made meliodas chuckle more and more when she spoke more words. "Hahahahahgahaha!!!!! Well.....maybe........ But.." Meliodas trailed of his sentence as he started walking to the bed. He sat young me down on the bed and bend down on one knee and looked straight into her eyes. "Look sweet heart, i love you with all my heart but............i have to go...." meliodas said, as young me started looking confused. This caught my attention and caused me to get up off the chair and walk over to the bed. I then stood right behind meliodas and bent down to his level so i got a seat in the front row, of this scene that was going on. Little did i know, this may answer some of the questions i had. "Wh-what!? Mel-Mel? What are you talking about? What happened?" "Well, as me and the rest of the team was fighting your dad, um......someone in the holy knights kingdom was murdered......someone very important in the kingdom.........and that someone was a friend of mine..." young me was listening to him with a shocked and confused look on her face still. "You see.... I Don't know who killed him.... I couldn't find that person because i was so busy fighting our dad that i didn't noticed this fight was also a distraction. But when we soon arrived and found out about this, the holy knights thought we did it..." "DID YOU?!??!" young me interrupted meliodas as he trailed off his sentence. "What? No! Of course not! Anyway.... We were accused of murdering him so we are now a target and we need to leave this area for a little while.." "can....can....can i come with?" Meliodas shook his head in a sad way. A tear then dropped from my eyes. " im sorry....thats what im trying to tell you y/n........" young me started to cry as he pull meliodas's hand to her chest. "So you're leaving me!!!!!! Here?????? ALONE???????? So.... SO THIS IS GOODBYE?!??!?!?!?!" "NO!NO!NO!!!," meliodas said as he took his other hand and wiped away her tears but i didn't think there was any point because the tears kept coming down her face........including mine.

" it's not good bye! Lets just call this a....see ya later...type of thing.." he said as he signed.... "Look, i hate this just as much as you do but i have to, it's not safe here for me! And it's not safe here for you........ I would ask king arthur but i'm a wanted man at the moment.....so...... i'm bring you back to dad....." this shocked me as much as it shocked young me. She started shaking and panicking. "NOOO!!!!!! Mel-Mel! I don't wanna go back! I'm going to be killed! And i wanna stay with you! And you promise you won't leave me! You said you would stay! You said you loved me!!!" young me screamed at meliodas and was crying really bad as she was holding both his hands now. This caused me to cry too. Like really bad. This also caused meliodas to immediately stand on both legs and hug young me with all his heart. I could see he was hugging her nice and tight so she couldn't let go if she wanted to. "I don't ever want to hear you say that again, nor think about it. You out of everyone in this world, will be the one and only love for me no matter what. I love you so much it kills me to leave you........even though we share the same father and i'm like a step brother to you...it doesn't matter.... And most of me really doesn't care......." he was now facing young me to look straight into his eye. " i love you and that will never change, one day, you'll be mine and you be by my side every step of the way, that i can promise. Im not leaving for good, just a little while till things calm down. But im sorry that i couldn't keep my promise for long.and im sorry i have to leave you but one thing i can definetly prmoise you is that i will make sure your well protected and that im coming back. Not for dad, not for the knights, and not for the girls.......for you." he said with a warm smile that could light any humans mood. This caused young me to grow a weak smile on her face, lean in towards meliodas and kiss him on the cheek. Then she slid into his neck and hugged him. He was shocked from the kiss but accepted the hug. He then started talking again. " but you dont have to worry, a friend of mine will be watching over you every second im gone, and i put a spell on dad to keep you safe.....for now but lets just hope it works. If anything happens, my friened will contact me immediatly and ill be right by your side as soon as i hear about anything but lets just hope nothing like that happens. But im going to need you to do something for me......if something bad happenes, just scream my name....my full name........and ill be there." meliodas finished and pull away from the hug and looked at young me straight in the eyes. Then door was suddently opened and showed ban.this caused me to stand but i was still behind meliodas. "CAPTAIN!!! There here! We gotta go!" he faced ban and nodded then looked back at young me straight in the eyes "But dont forget that i love you.........." he said as he kissed her forehead. "I love you more mel-mel......but just come back to me.....promise?" She said. Meliodas smiled widly and nodded. "I promise."he the placed his palm on her forehead and whispered.. "Im sorry..." she was soon knocked out in his arms. Her put her on the bed. He then soon turned around. He was facing me. Even though i knew he couldnt see me, my body tensed up. And my heart beat rised. And then he spoke. "Goodbye    y/n..." tears started streaming down my face. He then started walking, but becuase i wasn'y real right now, he walked straight through me. I turn and seen him in front of ban. Then ban spoke. "Captain... im sorry, i know how much you care and love the girl but we cant bring her along.." meliodas nodded his head. "I know.......i know....but if i truely love her....i have to love her enough to let her go......but one day ill come back and she may not remember anything or the sort. But i know one day she will soon ask me that question.........." he then began to walk away and turned back towards me and younf me..... Somehow looking me striaght in the eys......but he then soon finished his sentence... " that question on.....why i left."
