Chapter 39: Goodbye Father

Meliodas point of view

I took a very deep breathe in, closing my eyes trying to feel the heat of the moment. To figure out what I was going to do next, to figure out what my next move was gonna be. Because I was all out of ideas. What would the future hold for me? What chance would I have at actually winning? Would it be worth it? What would my reward be for saving the world. What would other people think of me then? What would y/n think of me........

I then took a big breathe out as I reopened my eyes again finding the demon king trying to regain his balance. I focus my attention on him, catching and holding down every move he makes. Rather if it's just him walking, or him trying to throw a punch at me.
Like it's been for a while, my face is still not showing any emotion. There wasn't really an emotion to show at the moment and I didn't really want to stress about it right now. I just wanna kick this guys ass and figure out the next step. Because if I think about everything that's happened, I'm gonna lose it, hard.
As I started to get myself out of my thoughts, my eyes caught the demon king looking straight at the moon in terror. I finally showed an emotion at that moment. 'Confusion'
I looked straight up at the moon. And after seeing this right in front of my eyes, all I could do, was FINALY smile. The blood moon.... was over. It's dawn. Everyone would be safe and this event will never appear again. I chuckled to myself as I was still looking up at the faded moon disappearing from the sky as its color was slowly dimming itself every minute that pasted by. I soon heard a loud growl and my name being called shortly after. I then focused my attention back on the monster 20 feet away from me as I look away from the moon. He was starting straight at me with hatred in his eyes.
He knows he's lost at this moment.
He can't hurt anyone.
He can't rule anyone.
He can't take over the world.
And he can't have the great power.
Because I have it.
I looked down as a smirk spread across my face. I looked back up at him and chuckled.
"Hey old man! Finally back on your feet I see?" I teased as I leaned forward as my feet went back and my balance depended on my heals. All he did was frown. I need more face expressions and reactions than that. "Oh! Did u see the moon?! Isn't it just beautiful!? Knowing it's finally disappearing to let the sun shine on a world that you will never take over." I reminded him as I pointed up at the moon never losing eye contact. From what I seen his body tensed up, he tightens his grip on his fists, and he growls. 'Perfect'
"It's over....... you cant hurt anyone, and u have nothing left....... you lost...." and without hesitation, he quickly responded. "I DIDN'T LOSE!!!! I can still take over this damn world with one fist! I can still kill and kick your ass at the same time! I'm Undefeatable!!!" He yelled as he charged towards me with his fist in the air getting ready to strike. I didn't feel like moving, because I knew if I moved and dodged it, he'd reverse it, then I'd dodge it again, then he tried and hits me again, and then it would go on and on and on..... so! I'll try something different!

My hands were folded behind my back, my head up held high looking at the demon king straight in the eye, as he was coming my way. I wore a smile on my face because I thought it was necessary, and I knew y/n would want me to, no matter what happened. When the demon king was inches away from punching me in the face. I tilted my head the opposite way of his fist, still looking straight. And at the same time I leaned me body to the side, popping my leg out from the opposite side, causing me to trip him as well. And from the corner of my eye, as he missed my face, and tripped, he fell to the ground growling in aggravation. "You say your undefeatable, but u can't even throw a punch at me! And look at you! Your a mess!" I stated as I put my hands on my hips. Did he really think he could beat me? Well, of course he did. He was prepared and I wasn't. He had the power and I didn't. He could create an army, and I couldn't. But I didn't need all that. All I needed, was to believe in myself and try my best. But it's not like I didn't in the first place, because I did! It's just that I needed an extra helping hand. And that was what y/n was for. And of course, I didn't really realize that until the last minute.
I kneeled down next to the demon king with my arms resting on my knee. "Look.....you need to face the facts and see that you've lost. Your army is down, your powers are now starting to fade, and your so called 'blood moon' has ended..... so I suggest you give up, and stop this madness before anyone else gets hurt-" and before I can finish my period, the demon in front of me now, shot a death glare at me. His eyes.....red as blood and as dark as a knight, flashed into my soul, giving me the creeps for a second, as his arm wiped at me, trying to knock me over. But he missed when I did a back flip, landed back on my feet again, dodging his swing. He gets up slowly and stares at me. "Oh meliodas..... me give up? Hahaha! Come on! You and I both know that I would never do that! Plus.....out of both of us, you would give up first..... just like you did when I was about to kill you, but killed y/n instead..." he said slowly ( purposely ) as he smirked, and at the same time, as my smile fell into a frown. "You said u would protect her...... but she protected u. You said you'd become powerful, but y/n made it happen for you, you said nothing would ever happen to her but look what happen........" he said making movements with his hands as he started circling me. 'Like hell I'm gonna let this guy get to me'. "Like I'll admit, am I happy she is dead? Yes.... and no because it didn't go the way I wanted, and it didn't go as planned. Dose it piss me the hell off? Oh...... of course it dose........but what can I say.... as long as I ruined your life and taken what u loved most away from you......." he trailed with laughter, as my fist tightened and a growl came from my lip. " then.... it was all!!!! Worth a penny.."
"Worth a penny? Ha! Stop it! Haha! yeah right, and stop trying to get to me because it ain't working. You took what was mine away from me..... and I'll make sure you rot in hell for what you did, even if I have to die doing so. And that is a promise I'm willing to make......" I said as the demon man here finally stopped pacing around me and came to a stop behind me, and at my last few words I turned around to face him. "Promise.... promise!!! promise!!! promise!!! promise!!!!! You and your damn promises! All the promises you've ever made, you've broke-"
"But this damn promise right here is one I'm willing to keep!"
" keeping your promise or not, you ain't gonna beat me. Because you can't..... and everyone knows it including you..... plus, no matter what happens to me, this whole damn world is going down with me..." he said with a bright smile on his face. "And just so you know, 'meliodas'....... y/n wasn't yours....... she was mine. Sure! I was dating her mom or whatever. But I owned her...... she was my toy to play with......... she was my prisoner that I held in captivity..... she was the key to my success..... and she sure was a piece of shit just like her mother was...." the next thing I knew I threw a punch towards the demon's jaw causing him to fly yards away from the castle. Calling y/n and Mary a piece of shit? Really? And u though I would just let that slid? He didn't know anything about them or about who they really were. He was just focused on the energy and power they had growing inside them. The demon then shot himself into the sky, and started floating there. " y/n's mom, or should I say 'Mary'...... was nothing but a tool to me! I used her and threw her away. Making her history........" he said with a growl. Then he went into a fighting stance in mid air. "JUST LIKE YOUR ABOUT TO BE!" The demon screamed to the top of his lungs kicking and punching magic waves towards my direction. I ran indifferent directions to dodge his attacks. I got hit a few times. But I managed to keep dodging as many as I ran. I was running so fast, it was like I was disappearing in one spot, and appearing in another. He eventually stopped when he seen that the whole area below him was just dust and ashes floating in the air making everything foggy.
He couldn't see me.
Good.
I then focused all the energy into one hand, the jumped into the sky with full speed, catching the demon king by surprise. I punched him into the stomach, causing him to gasp out blood, and tossed him back down to the ground. Once again, I gathered all my power and energy into both of my fist this time. Flying down to the demon, full on speed mode, i slammed my fist into his rubs, causing him to scream and growl at the same time, because of the pain. I crashed his body further down from ground level. I immediately started punching him. In the face. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I couldn't stop. I was to deep in the moment. Hearing my fist smash against his broken and bloodily face made me happy in ways no one could understand. I had to make this basterd feel pain. Feel all the pain he gave everyone.
Y/n 's pain.
Mary's pain.
the people's pain.
my pain.
No matter what I had to do, I'd make sure that happens. I was then cut from My thoughts at the sound of hearing him growl really loud, kicking me upward were I could see ground level again. I looked Down and seen him shoot him self from under ground, and float right beside me in the air. It was in slow motion for a sec. he twirled his body to kick me in the face, sending my body smashing through the ground causing my body to flip and roll until I had to gain control again.  I managed to dig my claws into the ground, with my body in balance again, keeping me from going any further from sliding against the hard ground. I then stood up and faced the beast. We narrowed our eyes and both leaned forward, getting ready to run at each other. And at the same time, we both kicked our feet forward, causing us to come at each other really fast. We pasted each other in a matter of seconds hoping we injured one or the other. Both of us faced the opposite direction. I got sliced in the stomach from that move, but I kept my balance in place. But I heard a fall behind me. Knowing that, I won. I turned and looked behind me to see the demon king in horrible shape. He over used his power and messed up his system and his body. He had cuts and wounds everywhere and he had a deep stab wound that I made just a sec ago, deep in the center of his stomach. He was bleeding a lot and was coughing up blood. All I could do was look down at him.
I won.
I really won.
It's over.
It's finally over.
The demon king covered his wound with his left hand and looked up at me. He screamed and leaned his tight hand in towards my face. I knew what he was doing. A bright red light was coming from his hand. As he was still screaming, A thick, powerful red laser, shot from his hand quickly. And In a flash, I moved his hand away from my face so I wouldn't get hit, causing the laser to hit a mountain, miles away from here, knocking the hole thing down. Once again, used up to much energy. He was about to fall forward, but he leaned his right hand against the ground for balance support and looked up at me again. His hand was smoking from the attach. This hole time, I never looked away from him. "You were so focused on winning and beating me, you didn't realize how much power you were using while fighting me.  You over did it, and u damaged yourself. U have nothing left.........you've lost." I said in a calm voice never breaking eye contact.
You lost.
Those two words kept replying in my head. Meaning that I won. And this time. I'm gonna end things differently, making sure this won't happen, and that he won't ever hurt anyone again. "this isn't over, one day, I'll be back again..... and I'll make sure I'm invincible.... having enough power to kill u-" he was cut off from him gasping out way more blood again! His face looked shocked. He then looked down to find my fist inside his flesh. Cutting deeper and deeper into the wound almost going all the way through. My hand was right we're his heart was. I smiled down at him. He grinned and looked up at me. "Do it meliodas..... go ahead and kill me. Kill your father.... kill the only family u have and ever will have..." i chuckled a little at his comment. " you see that's were your wrong, you were never family to me and never will be. And I have a family. A real family. A family that loves me. A family that accepts me. And a family that I'm gonna keep safe no matter who or what gets in my way...." I pulled my hand up his rib more, then yanked my arm back out his flesh.
..............with his heart in my hand.
No sound or words came from his mouth. No noise was made. Only thing I heard was his body hitting against the ground as it fell backwards.
He's dead.
I threw his monster heart back at his body and turned to walk away. After a few feet I stopped in my tracks. I took a deep breath in, closing my eyes, with my head still hung high. I held it in for a few seconds and finally breathed out. I opened my eyes, looking straight ahead of me. Without looking back, I said my final words, that I decided to let out before walking away.
"........goodbye father"
and with that I kept walking forward.
