Amy huffed and puffed as she followed a zig-zag stream of blue across the feild. She had been running for what felt like forever, her thighs burning and her shins splintering. Sonic kept his pace, intentionally running jagged paths to ensure Amy wouldn't lose sight of him.
She was a sunset, and he an electric storm.
Amy followed Sonic for what seemed like hours. It was then, Amy slowed down.
She thought about what she was doing. All the hours she wasted. Her every living moment was devoted to a hedgehog who avoided her.
Amy came to a halt. She slowly reached out her hand to the decending blue blur. He streaked across the horizon, as if bidding her farewell.
Amy thought for a moment, just a moment...

Is he really worth it?
