Chapter 10: Heartache

Dipper's POV:
Me, Mabel, and Star were on a mission, to find a corrupted gem she, they, man, I suck at fusion pronouns, anyway, they had seen in the area, and the three of us were sent to find, capture, and bubble it. We walked down a field of giant strawberries, with weapons scattered throughout the area. I heard a rustling noise in a patch of grass, I threw my boomerang as it flung revealing the corrupted gem. Mabel and Star charged the gem as I jumped to send another boomerang flying toward the gem. The gem dodged the boomerang as Star and Mabel attacked it. I flew back but did not poof. The fight raged on, and Star delivered the final blow, a staff strike on the neck, poofing the gem. She raised her arms in victory as a green ax entered her back. Her expression of celebration turned to horror as a poofing noise sounded. Me and Mabel saw Star's gem hit the ground as me and Mabel turned to see Wendy standing there. She grinned as she summoned a second ax. I was frozen in terror, this was not.the girl.i had fallen in love with. "Dipper..." Mabel said. I was brought back to reality. "Mabel, stay behind me." I said standing in front of her. "So, finally ready to fight? Good, I've been waiting to destroy you ever since my revelation." She said. "Wendy, whatever this revelation it isn't true, snap out of it." I said. "My alignment is to Roman, to Tom." She said. "Wendy, it doesn't have to be this way." I said. "Come back to us, your friends." I said. "Neither of you are my friends!" I lowered my head. "Then you are truly lost, my friend." I said summoning a boomerang. She lunged at me with her axes, in an attack method. I blocked with my boomerang as Mabel picked up Star's gem and bubbles it. She was about to send it off when one of Wendy's axes popped the bubble. I tried my best to block her attacks but I was failing fast, my boomerang close range sweeps weren't doing much damage. I was fighting her alongside Mabel who had picked up a sword around the area. She and Wendy fought as I was sent back by a strike that left a cut on my face. Mabel tried to keep the pace with Wendy, but was unable to as she was stabbed in the chest. I watched in horror as she was poofed. Wendy went to catch the gem, but I through a boomerang knocking the gem into my hand. "That was a terrible mistake." I said bubbling Mabel. Wendy chuckled. "Why, because you have no one left, to die for?" She asked. "No" I replied. "Now I have nothing left to fear." I said sending her gem off. I summoned a pair of boomerang. I tightened my grip on the weapons, as two blades came out of the ends. I made a mental note of that. The fight raged on as I ran towards her. We each took, dealt, and blocked a fair share of blows each. Wendy was starting to gain the upper hand, but I wasn't going to back down so easily. Wendy eventually made a quick jab I was unable to fully dodge as my shirt was torn. I flew back into a rock. She had an ax raised above her head, and she was ready to make the final blow, when out of nowhere the corrupted gem from earlier attacked Wendy. Crap, we forgot to bubble it. Well, that's bad, but I figure I should use this chance to leave, I ran, grabbing Star's gem as I raced towards the warp pad. I warped away as I saw Wendy still fighting the gem. When I got to the temple I ran to Stevonnie. Star's gem then reformed as Stevonnie calmed me down. "Where's your sister?" They asked. "In the bubble room." I replied. The three of us wen into the bubble room as I found Mabel's gem and unbubbled it. She came back in a flash of light. "What happened?" She asked. "We lost, I bubbled you and then I lost, I barley escaped." I said. "And we're no closer to finding Marco and Wendy." Star said. "Well find them, and we'll save them." Stevonnie said. I walked out of the temple and up into the night sky. I won't fail again. I will save you. I thought as a star flew by.

Wendy's POV:
I bowed to my master. "Wendy, good to see you, your progress?" He asked. "I have fought them again, there was a slight complication, but we have them fleeing. Tom stood up. "Very good." He said walking towards Marco's bubble. He stroked the bubble gently. "Soon, my friend, I will have my revenge."
