Chapter 7: Water Fight

~Griff's POV~

Griff and Zuri searched around for Emma. They eventually found her talking to Xander.

"Emma, I can explain-" Griff started, immediately getting interrupted.

Emma's eyes narrowed. "No, you two obviously climbed the same mountain you almost died on. What were you thinking?"

"Um.." Griff hesitated. "Luke led us up the mountain again. When we got to the top, he had a fake 'emergency' and he climbed down as fast as he could, leaving us."

"Ugh, Luke is in so much trouble!" Emma started for the Grizzly cabin.

Zuri grabbed Emma's arm. "No! Please, no. I don't want Luke to get in trouble."

Emma sighed. "Alright.. but you guys are okay, right? Everything all good?"

"Yep, everything's fine. I told you not to worry about anything, Zuri." Griff gave a sigh of relief.

Zuri gave Griff a warm smile, making him blush nervously.

Emma smiled. "I'm not gonna get you guys in trouble, but please don't follow Luke up the mountain again. You two know better."

"Yeah, we're sorry Emma." said Zuri.

"Are we off the hook now?" Griff asked.

"Yes, you are." Emma said, turning back to Xander.

Griff looked over at Zuri nervously. "You wanna do something? We could sit on the dock, play soccer, go canoeing.."

"Canoeing, definitely." Zuri grinned.

"I'll race you to the dock!"

Griff laughed. "Hey, wait up!"

Zuri had been waiting by the dock when Griff ran around the corner, bumping into Zuri.

"Oh, sorry." Griff chuckled.

"It's okay," Zuri giggled, bumping into Griff intentionally.

"Oh, you're gonna pay for that." Griff grinned. He gathered water from the lake in his hands and splashed Zuri in the face.

"Aah!" Zuri squealed, now gathering water in her hands, splashing Griff repeatedly.

"I'm winning at this." Griff smiled, splashing Zuri.

"No, you're not." Zuri giggled.

"Wait, wait, wait.. come here." Griff said, sounding serious.

"What is it?" Zuri asked.

Griff splashed Zuri again. "Haha!"

Zuri giggled. "I'm gonna kill you for that."

"I hope not." Griff grinned.

Zuri looked into Griff's eyes and stopped talking. There was a long period of silence as they moved closer and closer until-

Griff felt Zuri's lips on his, and his heart instantly melted.

"Zuri?" Griff asked, pulling away slightly.

"Yeah?"

"Remember when we agreed on just being friends?"

"Yeah."

"I lied." Griff smiled, leaning back in for another kiss. "Close your eyes." he whispered.

"Um.. okay." Zuri smiled and closed her eyes.

Griff splashed her again.

Zuri squealed and splashed him back.

"Zuri, we never actually went canoeing." Griff laughed.

"Oh, I totally forgot, but it's probably too late now." Zuri sighed.

"Maybe later?" Griff smiled.

"Yeah, sure." Zuri said. "I better get back to my cabin."

"Okay, see you later."

"See ya."

~Zuri's POV~

Zuri skipped into Woodchuck cabin with a grin bigger than the Cheshire Cat.

"Well, someone's happy." Tiffany said, looking up from her book.

Emma was checking her lip gloss in the mirror. "You're telling me."

"I have every reason in the world to be happy." Zuri giggled, jumping onto her bed.

Tiffany gasped. "I'm getting the nurse."
"Wait, let's see why Zuri is so happy." Emma grinned.

"Hehe." Zuri blushed and rolled onto her side.

"I know exactly how to get it out of her." Tiffany smirked, grabbing her violin and playing it violently.

"Agh, Tiffany! STOP!" Zuri covered her ears with her fingers.

"Not until you tell me what's going on." Tiffany giggled, continuing to play.

"Fine!" Zuri screamed. "Now shut up so I can tell you!"

Tiffany stopped playing. "I'm listening?"

"Um.. Griff and I.. we um-"

"Spit it out, Zuri!" said Emma, turning to face her.

"We kissed."

"You wha-"

"Don't you dare tell anyone else about this."

Emma squealed. "Please let me tell Xander, I'm dying to right now!!"

Zuri rolled her eyes. "You're going to anyway..."

Emma shrugged. "Well, yeah."

She left the cabin, leaving Tiffany and Zuri alone.

"I can't believe you kissed him," Tiffany said, sounding shocked.

"Well, believe it girl, because it happened." Zuri grinned. "I'll be daydreaming if you need me."

Tiffany rolled her eyes and laughed.
