"Ah, shit" I say as I fumble around under my pillow, looking for  my phone. "Rise and shine sleeping beauty! ",a voice said on the other side of the phone.

"Ugh, KC what could you possibly want from me so early in the morning? "

"Seriously Jess?  Have you forgotten what day it is today? "

"Am I supposed to remember something? "

"Yes Damn it!  It's your first day of school today in a new school and you are already running late! "

"Aha.. Shit! I completely forgot. OK bye KC, I have to go now "
I cut the call before she got to say anything else.

I quickly had a shower and wore my black jeans, a pale blue tank top and my black Converse.

I ran down the stairs, grabbed an apple when something caught my eye.  It was a letter.

Jess,
Have a good day today at school,
I'm sorry I couldn't see you off to school but I had to attend an urgent meeting today.

Your school is only 1km away, it's called 'Nuwest Academy* ' you should be able to see it easily.

Hope you have a great day  .

I took the letter and threw it away.

Starting up my beat up beetle, I headed for school.

'Nuwest Academy' a big board said as I drove into the student's parking.

I just stood there in the middle of
the parking lot, looking lost.

"Ahem..... "

"I'm,um...a bit lost"

"Well, I can see that, the names Amber by the way. " said the girl holding her hand out for a hand shake.

" oh I'm sorry, my name's Jessica, but call me Jess, " I replied shaking her hand.

"All righty then,  let's get you to class. "

We walked for about five minutes until we reached an office with the words, 'reception ' on the door.

"Good morning Mrs Smith "

"Good morning Amber, what brings you here? "

"Well, I found a new student on the parking lot. She needs a schedule for her classes."

"OK, what's your name sweetie? "
The lady said kindly,

"I'm... Jessica Annabel Wilson. "

Mrs Smith typed in my name effortlessly .

"OK Jessica -"

"Oh no,  please call me Jess. "

"Jess, here's your schedule for your classes, and welcome to this school. Have a great day. " she said, giving me a toothy smile.

"Thanks, you too"

I looked down at my schedule ;

Room 29- Advanced maths
Room 203- Life Science
Room 30- English (poetry )
Room 204- IT* (*Information technology )
Room 38- History
Room 201- Drama
Room  49- French
