After school, Isla raced to the tree with excitement pumping through her body.
Her heart rate only escalated when she found a note hidden under the leaves.
She eagerly took it from the tree and began to read the letter.
It was written in long paragraphs that seeped emotion.
Her correspondent was suffering because their parents were divorcing.
Her heart ached, but she felt less lonely in her messed up world.
Her friends at school were perfect, there was never anything wrong in their lives.
So she could never confide in them with her other problems.
Although, she felt like she could with her correspondent.
Isla took her journal out and began to write a note in reply to the mysterious person.
