'Those letters are ours and we're not ashamed of them.'
Claire's voices echoed through the courtyard and people took notice.
Isla didn't like being the center of attention nor did she want to publicly admit these letters were hers.
'You can judge us, you can say mean things, but those letters are honest. They're the most honest thing in this school. We're all so scared of our appearances, we cover up our feelings with happy smiles and we're not.'
Isla understood where Claire was going, she was owning her problems and it was something she needed to do.
Sure, she'd been forced into it, but she was also going to embrace it.
'If you're facing a problem of your own, write a letter and see what happens. I hid mine in a tree and I ended up getting my friend back.'
People took noticed, but they were unable to predict what would happen next.
Isla could tell Claire was scared, but they could be scared together.
This time, they were facing their problems together.
