Once a upon a time not so long ago, I was tidying up my room like the good girl I am, when I saw a spider by my door.

Now, my youngest sister Nina loves fake spiders and always leaves them around all over the place, trying to scare us. So I, thinking she'd just acquired a new one, went over to pick it up.

I was not expecting, however, for the 'fake' spider to run at my touch.

I screamed.

My dad yelled down the hallway for me to shut up.

I screamed again.

I then burst into tears of shock and horror before running down the hallway to get dad.

I told him what had happened and he said he would check it out.

He came into my room, found the spider behind them door and killed it, before asking me in an urgent manner whether it had bitten me or not.
It hadn't, which is very much to my luck because as it turns out, it was a white-tailed spider.

That's the bastard ^I would show you a bite but it's a bit icky

I would show you a bite but it's a bit icky. Google it if you really wanna see.

From what I know of what happens when you're bitten, the skin around the bite dies and rots, so it's like having a 'zombie patch' of grossness and pain on you 😬
Nasty buggers.

What's more, they just so happen to be native to my part of Australia. Lovely.
